BUCKLAND AWAY

SECOND BEST AT BUCKLAND !
Although I thought we gave a good account of ourselves up at Homers Heath, the current league leaders secured the win. We went behind with an early goal . A low ball struck well away from the keeper. But we levelled before the break when Andy Sargent headed a high ball inside the far post. Second half we had our share of the scoring chances. They took the lead again with a simple header by a player unmarked on the far post. The second blow was when keeper Ben Elphick was stretchered off after a 50-50 challenge. Play was allowed to go on so the empty net saw the third goal . It was now all uphill against the league leaders. I was more than impressed with the set-up at Buckland, and the hospitality shown to the committee at the break was first class. Next game now Sunday 1pm. Never mind the Church, get yourself up to Witheridge. We can sing some hymns on the way. If we loose, we can say a prayer together ??. I trust we had a safe trip home. Have a nice day and stay tuned.
