"BROOKSIE" DAMPS DOWN THE ASHES !!

The local derby certainly lived up for what was expected. A bumper crowd saw good football from both sides. Play was end to end with both keepers having plenty to handle. First half saw us a goal down. But it must be said it was a great goal from their front man "Marc Thorn". Second half we were down to ten men having "Shane Kracc"going for an early shower after a second yellow card. We battled on and saw young Paul Heveran effort come back off the cross-bar. But then they hit the post with a great shot coming from ex-Parkway player Matty Cusack. Just when they were about to pop the corks for the slender win, "Brooksie" somewhat poured cold water on the "Ashes"??. He found space to fire home a shot, about 25yds, waist high in the corner of the net. This was what we deserved remembering we were down to 10 men. The goal was richly celebrated by the squad and the bench. To be fair on the night , no side deserved to lose.
