ANDY BARNES WHO IS OUR RES KEEPER MADE SOME GOOD SAVES DURING THE 90MINS

ARGYLE

We had to suffer the home defeat by the youth of Argyle with their clear cut passing and running of the ball. Three chances were created with the other goal coming from a free header off a corner. We got back in the game with the score at 2-1 when "Mike Southgate" shot was too strong for the keeper to hold. But it failed to alter the 90min score-line.

"Lidds on the Line"
When we recently played Saltash I met up with a good friend of mine "Pat Kiely". Pat and myself played for many a year for the Post Office. But after the old age crepted upon us, we took on the roll of supporting his son "Chris Kiely". For the best part of 20years wherever he was playing, any South Western gound ,or the Devon league you would see us on the line. He then came to "Parkway" to play. But after about two seasons on his departure, that left me to make a difficult decision whether to follow or stay with Parkway. As I was heavily involved, I was commited to stay. So with "Chris" currently now with Saltash, it was somewhat strange to be together again, but shouting for our own teams.
But we keep the social side going, when we meet with our wives on a regular basis for a pub lunch and a few beers. With of course the main topic being football. So you see, the joy of a wonderful frienship is being involved in that wonderful game of ours , football ???

SALTASH UTD

A good crowd saw us go down by four clear goals, to the current league leaders Saltash Utd. We were a goal down in the first 2mins. But it must be said it was a great strike. Further defensive errors saw three more goals to say we were well and truly beaten on the day.

NEIL MOXHAM SHIELD

We were to be the holders of the Neil Moxham Run-About Shield for only a short period of time. With the home defeat inflicted on us by "Saltash Utd". Here you see "Parkway chairman Mark Rowles" presenting the shield to "Saltash chairman Colin Phillips".

PENINSULAR LEAGUE

Here we are now at "Bolitho Park" at a crucial stage of our season. Entry to the new league is going to be sorted on the four remaining games for us. Although they are all at home, Saltash,

Argyle. Tavistock and Porthleven are going to be difficult. But after the brilliant result against high flyers "Bodmin Town"I feel we are ready for it.

My (light hearted) Man of the Match awards for the season is coming to a close finish. I have two players running neck and neck for the end of season trophy. With all the plans now cemeted firmly for the new club-house at the ground, I feel we would be an added asset for the new league for the city of Plymouth.

max points at Priory Park

Our path into the Penninsular League was somewhat cushioned with the away win against Bodmin at Priory Park. We took the lead after 16 mins from a throw in. "Ryan Fice" was on the near post to head in from close in. There was good football played by both sides. but it took untill 16 mins of the second half for the equalizer to come. A rare moment that "Danny Ohagan" got away from "Virgil Igalawuye", he scored with a free header off a corner. Play was end to end and with 15 mins from time we went flagship again. The ball found its way down the right flank and it was "Ryan Fice "again hitting the roof of the net with a piledriver of a shot. They came at us then, but our back four was in no mood to be intimidated.
It must have been a pleasant return to Priory Park for "Ryan and Roger Fice" who once were heavily involved at Bodmin. Ryan with his two goals ,put his name on the Man of the Match, and his father who is our joint manager of our club, held his head high with the brilliant result. The day was good to us with the three points . It was also the grand total of 600 goals that we have scored since being in the Sth Western League. We also took proud possession of the "Neil Moxham Run About Shield"for the away win. Our club steward won the draw?? and they also sold a nice "pasty"

GOOD SAVE

NEAR MISS BY SULLY

Callington Town

Charlie Baggott and grandson Ben

Callington Town

The Easter break was somewhat dampened when we failed to secure the win down at Marshfield Parc. It would have been nice to see "Lee Doel" score on his 20th birthday. Also for our committee member and head groundsman "Charlie Baggott" reaching the grand age of 80. But it was not to be. It was the first time the home side have recorded a win against us. The 2-0 win must have been like winning the cup??. But we did not play well at all. A game on paper we should have won. So now its shake-up time. The remaining games now are going to be tough. With the season drawing to a close and that golden spot in the league up for grabs ??

ST BLAZEY WERE STRETCHED

We gave a good account of ourselves against the big boys of the league. They took an early lead with a good header from a corner. But we got the equalizer before the break when Ryan Fice finished off from close in. We then took the lead again by Fice after he was put through by Brooks. They levelled soon after and their winner came late in the game from a free kick. The ball fed through a mellee of players with the final touch giving them the winner. It was a good game with play end to end , but again they leave with a lucky winner.

this is another test with an image added. This is where i will post match reports and an image from that match.
