ST LUKES BOWL

OH! No !Not again!!
Yes, I'm afraid so. The elements of the currant season have again put a damper on our fixtures. As you know , the bitter cold snap, that fell on the match-day put paid to any game going on. Our head groundsman "Al Horswell", (pic) had no choice to put the game off. How right he was , with the forcast of heavy rain that fell later in the day. So the St Lukes Bowl against Exeter will now be on the 4th Feb with a 7-30pm start. Before that we pay host to Penzance, in the quarter final of the Throgmorton Cup. They reside in Div 1, but at the moment holding a more than healthy position in the league. That game penciled in for Wed 28th Jan with a 7-30pm k/o. Dare I say it! weather permitting. Stay tuned

ST LUKES BOWL

"OUR NEXT CHALLENGE" ??
A date for your diary is Wed 21st Jan with a 7.30pm start. When we take on no less Exeter City in the St Lukes Bowl. I'm thinking now, how important this game is to them, regarding the strength of the side they will present. But you can bet, manager Dave Leonard will have the squad up and ready. It will be a good to see the out-come of the fixture. Some good news, we have Andy Sargent (PICTURED) returning to us from Launceston. As you know Andy was a favourite at Parkway and scored for us a lot of goals. Let us hope he can blend in with Chris Wright and add to our fire power up front. So, hope to see you at Bolitho Park, for one of the biggest games for 2009.

PARKWAY 2NDS V ROCHE

PARKWAY STORM ON ??
Parkway continue to maintain the 100% record in the East Cornwall Div 1 with a good win over third placed Roche. But play was even for long spells , until the first goal. We then were the more stronger side. Danny Worth headed a simple goal, and Ross Avery again an easy chance made it 2-0 before the break. Second half the visitors got one back, but we replied again when Dean Smith free kick found the net through an own goal. The game was sealed then, after Danny Worth hit a thunderbolt of a shot to give us the tally of 4-1. I would not say play was at its best, but the win is just as important. Scroll down for some action.

WE TAKE THE LEAD
After good work by Lewis Young, the ball popped up nicely for Danny Worth to put us flagship .

PETE FOSTER (FOSSIE)
Had a brilliant game and was a stumbling block for the visitors. But after this bit of karaoke ! the ball went for a corner.

TORPOINT AWAY

THE FESTIVE FIXTURE FROZEN ??
The long awaited game under the new lights
was halted due to the elements on the night.
A good crowd already in attendance were bitterly disapointed in more ways than one.
However, it was a controversial decision.
About 80% of the crowd, who are involved in the game , said the game could have gone ahead.
But the "man in black" thought different. So we all bowed our heads and went home. After a pint of course. But we did hear some breaking news, that Andy Sargent, who was our top goal scorer in seasons past, is to rejoin us at Parkway. It seems all is not well at Launceston, and he rejoins us at Bolitho Park. Next game now for your diary is Wed 21st Jan with a 7.30PM K/O when we take on Exeter City in the St Lukes Bowl. Just as a closing thought , I wonder if the "REF" called the game off , so that he could go home and watch "corrie"???

CULLUMPTON HOME

PARKWAY 3 CULLUMPTON 0
We start the new year with a home win against lowly Cullumpton. This was to be the dividing factor between the clubs, having lost away in the league , but we beat them in the cup. But we proved to be the stronger challenge within the first 10mins. We went close on many chances , but the break arrived still on level pegs. The second period it was only going to be a matter of time before we were to score. Their keeper Chad Gribble played well keeping us at bay. We then missed a penalty, but took the lead soon after by Chris Wright. Sammy Mathews 2 goals completed the score-line. I would not say we played well, but it was good enough on the night for the win.

"QUIET NIGHT"
Our keeper Simon Zinn had little to contend with in the way of direct shots on target. In the second half, he read a couple of pages from his library book ???

"MAN OF THE MATCH"
Again, central defender Matty Hawke puts his claim on the award. During the 90mins he gave absolutely nothing away fo the visiting front runners.

"PENALTY MISS"
A chance for Chris Wright to give us the lead all be it from the spot. But the keeper dived and his touch on the ball was enough to turn the ball away. But he redeemed himself 22mins into the second half. Lee Doel done the running, and opened up the chance for Chris to put us in front.

2 GOALS FOR SAMMY !!
Young Sammy Mathews was on hand to put his name on two of our goals. The first a low cross was slammed in from close on the goal-line. The second one, a ball fed by Arron Cusack gave him a clear chance to beat the keeper. Next game now is away to Torpoint with a 7.30pm k/off. This will be the first game under their new floodlights, that is now finished. Remember this ? Daniel said , let there be light, and there was light. You could see for bleeding miles ??
