UPDATE AT BOLITHO PARK

"LET'S GET STARTED"
At last the soil has arrived, so that we can now get on with the work needed on the ground. With all the recent games , the pitch has took a bit of a pounding to say the least. But in the safe hands of our ground staff, I'm sure all will be put right.
I can now post that the new powers to be at "Parkway", as you have already read will be no less than "Dave Leonard". He is bringing also "Lee Harvey and John Horne" to Bolitho Park!!. To get such a trio for our new management plans, we will be a bigger force in the league for the new season. I hope we can live up to the high standards I'm sure that "Dave "will seek ?. Also when a manager moves to a new club, players normally follow. I think now we will be in for some new faces on the block ??.
"Stay tuned", for future developments ??

RESIGNATION AT PARKWAY

"GEZ CALLS IT A DAY"
I returned home on Tuesday to my red hot phone, telling me of the resignation of our manager "Gez Baggott". For reasons best known to himself, and maybe for the future of the club, he has decided to step down as joint manager. I am not alone when I say I have great respect for him , and not forgetting he has played a major role at the club for the best part of twenty years. But all is not lost, when I hear he will still be at our games, but not in the managers roll so to speak. (perhaps he could help us take the nets down ?? ha!ha!). But joking aside it will be a tough position to fill. Yet again I hear that prominent names are in the pipe-line ! But as yet it is pie in the sky and not for me to post. Soon , I will be looking down the lens of the camera to record the new faces that will be gracing "Bolitho Park". Faces I have been told come with good pedigree !!. So stay tuned for further developments as they happen!.

STAFFORD WILLIAMS PREMIER CUP FINAL

"CUP WINNERS 2007-2008"
The "Parkway Seconds" surely done the the club credit winning the "Stafford Williams Premier Cup" against "Wessex Rangers", by two clear goals. Having been pipped at the post for the league title by the same team, revenge to a certain degree was sweet !!. But on the night they were worthy winners. We took the lead just on the break, all be it from the spot by "Dean Smith". He secured the win in the second half sliding the ball over the line from close in from a "Lewis Young " cross. With the powers to be from the senior squad all on the line, more than one name will be noted to be up-dated to senior football at "Parkway" ??. It surely was a great result for the club. Scroll down for some action?

CUP FINAL

"WE TAKE THE LEAD"
Just before the break "Dean Smith" slots away a spot kick to put us in front. He was on target again in the second half to secure the game. Very soon, he will be knocking on the door for the first team ??.

CUP FINAL

"STUMBLING BLOCK" PETE FOSTER
I just knew that "Fossie" was going to be a real problem for the front runners of "Wessex". He had a strong game in the Parkway defence.

CUP FINAL

"KORAN WHITFIELD"
Although we registered a clear win, we still had to overcome the experience of ex-Parkway senior team player "Koran Whitfield". A player I have always admired, he played a prominent game in the Wessex defence.

THE GOLDEN BOOT

THE GOLDEN BOOT COMES TO "PARKWAY"
Mark Berry has ended his season on a high. I can now report his last goal in the second half at "Saltash", put him flagship for the "Sth West Peninsula Lge" golden boot award, season 2007-2008. This is now the second time the award has come to "Bolitho Park". Well done Mark.

LAST GAME SALTASH AWAY

"WE PAY OUR RESPECTS"
With the final positions in the league being established, this last game was to be played out with nothing to gain baring the win. I am glad to say on a perfect night the good crowd saw a sporting 90mins of good football. On the night we ran out 2-1 winners, and agreed by the home fans , best team won. But we respect our neighbours from across the bridge, and fully endorse with them coming runners up in the league. (Pinching it from us by a single point). Apart from a great night, it was slightly marred when "Danny Lewis" picked up a nasty injury late in the game. I'm sure all at "Parkway" wish him well and a speedy recovery. Scroll down now for a bit of the action.

SALTASH AWAY

"THE HOME KEEPER"
During the first half the "Ashes" keeper "Wearing", brought off some brilliant saves to keep our score-line to the single goal.

"DOELY GIVES US THE LEAD"
"Lee Doel" ran his heart out as usual, and hit the net with a great strike from close in ,with 22mins gone.

"TONY BOUCH"
Highly rated in my books, had a good game in the home defence. It was a sad day when he decided to leave "Bolitho Park".

"OFF THE POST!!"
Even the home crowd was heard to say, we should have gone in on the break ,with more to our credit than the slender one goal lead. This effort from"Andy Sargent" cannoned off the post .

SALTASH AWAY

"MARK BERRY"
Went looking to keep his challenge alive for the golden boot award for the season. He went close, hitting the bar in the first half with the keeper well beaten. Second half paid off, when he headed home a pin-point cross from Paul Edwards, to give us our second goal.

SALTASH AWAY

"PAUL EDWARDS"
Played a faultless game as club captain. For our last game of the season he was without doubt Man of the Match.
Stay tuned during the close season, I will try to update you as things happen ??

TAVISTOCK AT HOME

"SLAUGHTERED (BY) THE LAMBS !!"
Our onslaught for the final place in the league was some-what dented on our last game at home. It just goes to show in this league, even when you are a healthy 3rd from top," Tavy" comes along who are mid- table, and turns us over to the tune of 4-1. But on the night they took their chances, where we failed to penetrate with the final shot. There was some football match on the tele ?? which resulted in our lowest crowd attendance for the season. But both teams served up some good football considering the wet state of the ground. So we now go into the last game away to "Saltash utd", with the 2nd or 3rd place at stake!! It's been a hard season.
See you at "Kimberly" Wed 7th May 7-30pm

TAVY AT HOME

"JOEY EKE"
Had a good game and saw a lot of the ball. But who is that familiar face watching from the line ???
"Lidds"

TAVY AT HOME

"TAVY DEFENCE"
The visitors defence was hard to break down with the sure left foot of "Lee Bevan" who is ex-Parkway, and the vast experience of "Nigel Pugh"

TAVY AT HOME

MARK BERRY
Brought out the best save in the match from the visiting keeper "Meedsie". When he tipped his 35yarder onto the bar to save!!

TAVY AT HOME

"ALL EYES ON HOBBY"
He was always going to be their main danger man for us. Also it was reported ,that he was being watched by bigger fish on the line. I thought we played him well, despite he put his name on two goals. The first ,a gift when "Eddie and Tom" messed up, leaving Hobbsie with an empty net. His second goal was a good strike in the second half for their fourth goal.
"Lidds"

TAVY AT HOME

"VISITING KEEPER"
One of the main stumbling blocks before you score against "Tavy" is their keeper "Andy Meeds", who I have always rated one of the best in our league. But a high ball found the net from "Shane Powell", when he miss-judged the flight. But if the truth was told, it was realy meant for a cross ??
"Lidds"

TAVY AT HOME

"THE BACKROOM BOYS"
Now that the last game at home is done and dusted, I will take the opportunity on the behalf of our club chairman "Mark Rowles", to give thanks to the people who make it happen. First our sponsors, obviously the Managers "Roger and Gez", and the present squad who have placed us in a more than healthy position in the league. (BRILLIANT) But before the "ref" can blow that whistle, you must have eleven men on the field. As we all know, it takes more than eleven men to get them there ??. Do the players know the simple tasks ! Who takes the net's down! who makes the tea ! who fetches the ball when it's whacked over the ground perimeter in the dark! Somebody does ???. So a big thank you to one and all.
See you at "Kimberly" for the big one ??
Stay tuned "Lidds"
