BOXING DAY VERSUS ELBURTON VILLA

"PRESENTATION"
Normal procedure at Bolitho Park is marked between both captains. Visiting skipper Kev Yetton seen here with Parkway's Jamie Morrison Hill. A good crowd saw a game that was somewhat below our best. Maybe the Xmas spirit had sunk in more ways than one ?? With us on the top floor of the league so to speak, and Elburton currently in the basement, you would think we could be sure of the win. But we knew manager Scott Banford (baggy) would not think the same, and give us a hard battle. But play was scrappy coming from both sides. It was not until the 15 min, before we saw a glimmer of hope. Chris Wright gave us the lead from 25yds with a low shot. Play was end to end, and the equalizer came before the break. The ball crossed in from the right flank, first touch was good and then volleyed home past our keeper Zinny.
Second half both sides looked for the winner. We then started to be the more likely to score , going close on many chances. Especially when Kev Robinson found himself inches from the line. But his contact on the ball was too strong and it sailed over the bar. "Robbo" ! it was heartbreaking to watch!! But the day was saved 5mins from time.
A contraversal free kick was only half saved by the keeper, Chris Wright saw the loose ball and slammed home the festive winner. The 90min team talk by manger Dave Leonard was obviously levelled at the standard of play. But that is the joy of our wonderful game we are involved in, you can play poor , but still win ???

Our Chris Wright continues to add to his goal tally. The grand total to date of 35 will take some beating. Gathering the fact we are only half way through the current season. "lidds"

BOXING DAY

EARLY PRESSURE
We gave visiting keeper Simon May, plenty to think about.
Also notice in the frame ex-Parkway player Lee Harvey. But he caused no threat up against our Matty Hawke.

XMAS DATES

"CHEERS"
Here you see me easing myself into the xmas spirit. But in our world today, that will take more than a glass of wine ?. Anyway, the reason for the insert is on behalf of our chairman Mark Rowles and vice chairman Mark Young. It is to thank all who attended the quiz night on Saturday. It was a great success. All thanks to the both team squads who blended well to make the night. After the clubs monthly meeting our secretary Duncan Hedges has given us some dates for your diary. Firstly the game away to Liskeard Sat is "OFF". Because they are involved in the Cornwall Senior Cup. Then we have Sat Jan 2nd home to Cullumpton with a 7-30PM K/off. Next a big game in the St Lukes Bowl against no less Exeter City at home on the 21st Jan 7.30pm!!. To round off, Jan 28th again a 7-30PM start in the Throgmorton Cup against Penzance. A busy time for our manager Dave Leonard and the squad. But before that all happens, we have the Xmas bonus for you on Boxing day with the local derby against Elburton Villa. That is a

See more goals, meet the players!, browse the photos in the club!, something to eat! and above all , it will be cheaper ??. There you go, it just remains for me to say have a great xmas and a happy new year. In this world of today, that's important to us all ??

FALMOUTH TOWN HOME THROGMORTON CUP

"FALMOUTH BLASTED AT BOLITHO PARK"
Having heard and analysed the shocking news from "Bickland Park", it somewhat took the sting out of this cup-tie. But all credit to the youngsters who came to fulfill the fixture. They must have known they were in for a bashing. But they gave their best right up to the final whistle. Going in at half-time 5-0 down is bad enough. But they still tried to turn the tables. Just a short mention for "Andy Bowker", who was a popular player at Parkway. But he left us for greener pastures. Sometimes that don't work out ?. Anyway, we march on now with a home tie against Penzance . No man of the match for this game, because taking the result in mind, there were two many names in the frame to pick !! Scroll down for the score-sheet.

He will take some stopping !. In our onslaught of the youngsters from Cornwall, he notches another four goals. Bringing his tally now to 33, top man for the club, and league to date. "lidds"

NEWTON ABBOT AWAY

, EARLY PRESSURE AT COACH ROAD
A sunny afternoon but a meagre crowd saw us coast through this fixture against the Spurs. We hardly got into top gear before we were well in control. Danny Brooks gave us the lead inside 5 mins. It was one of his special free kicks , brillantly struck, beating the wall and the keeper. Paul Baker then was on target, just before the break. Second half we went further ahead, top scorer Chris Wright kept his tally going with two goals. All be it one was from the spot after he was brought down by the keeper in the box. The open chances for the home side were well and truly wasted. Their shooting in front of goal was shocking, giving "Zinny" in goal a quiet afternoon.
Scroll down for Man of the Match. "lidds"

NEWTON ABBOT AWAY

"SAMMY MATHEWS"
Put in great performance. Forced the home keeper to tip his 35 yarder onto the bar to save. It was a great shot and a good save .

MAN OF THE MATCH AND DONKEY FOR THE DAY
Because of a slight error in the team sheet of last week, match day secretary Vic Easterbrook, had to don the Parkway Donkey outfit for the day. But only our Vic, could carry out this forfeit in a true sportmanship manner. Here you see him redeeming himself, presenting the Man of the Match award to club captain Jamie Morrison Hill. SONGS OF PRAISE

"JUST A FEW WORDS OF THANKS"
With the festive time fast approaching, we must give thanks to where we are at this time. Firstly, our manager Dave Leonard and the current squad, putting us in a more that healthy position in the league. But before the chosen eleven can lace their boots, there is work to be done. It takes more than you can imagine. We may not be players, but still play our part. From the secretary down to the tea-maker, mark the lines, put up the posts and nets,, cut the grass, pick -up the crap after the game, need I go on ??. Not forgetting the financial side that is handled by our trusty treasurer Brian Edwards. What a difficult job that must be at these hard times. He does his best to keep the club above water. But I'm sure with him in charge we will not sink !! In the club-house after the final whistle, the food and hospitality all ready. We must thank or Nicky for that. But all said and done, if we did not like it, we would not do it ?? So scroll down now and see just a few of the un-sung heroes of Parkway.

SONG OF PRAISE

"TOP GROUNDSMAN"
Here we see one of our loyal staff for many years, Alan Horswill, Sitting astride last years Xmas present ??. But jokes aside, Alan, has been with the club for a long time. Without fail, he attends the ground every day to check on the security of the club. As of late, that has been a important factor, regarding the world we live in today.
Happy Xmas to Alan and all the family.

SONG OF PRAISE

"CHARLIE BAGGOTT"
What more can be said about our Charlie. He is the inspiration for us all at the bright old age of nearly 82. He is our master builder, and no job is too small or big for him to tackle. You will find him at the ground with a smile for every one.
Charlie ! Happy Xmas from all at Parkway.

SONG OF PRAISE

"MAN AT THE GATE"
"Colin Edwards" is our man who takes the money on the gate. He his not too clever on his feet , but has to catch two buses to attend to the game. After the gate is done, he is off to make the tea on the break for the committee members. Then on the 90min whistle, you will find him selling the raffle tickets in the club-house. Now thats what you call dedication to the club. Happy Xmas to Colin and all the family.

SONG OF PRAISE

"CHAIRMAN"
It all would be not possible but for this man at the top "Mark Rowles". His wheeling and dealing behind the scenes, is in order to get the funds for the future club-house. At these given difficult times it all takes time. But with him at the helm, we will get there !!
Happy Xmas to Mark and all the family

SONGS OF PRAISE

"MAIN SPONSOR"
We must give a big thank you to all our sponsors for the year. Without them we could not function. With a special thanks to our top man Gary Doel. Who attends all our games home and away with his lovely wife by his side. Gary has responded to our needs on more than one occasion. Happy Xmas to Gary and all the family.
