PENZANCE AT HOME

10 MEN VERSUS 10 MEN !!
A very poor crowd saw a game that lacked a lot of skill. But conditions were not at the best. Also an early red card for the visitors for a hand ball in the box. Soon we were level pegs as well losing "Lance Bailey" with a two footed tackle. We took the lead "Dennis Mason" finishing the move. But they levelled before the break when a slippery ball fell loose from "Martin Pipers " grasp. After the break "Hobbo" was on target, and soon after got his second. To round off the day in the rain, new signing "Sam Stevens" scored on his debut. Nothing special but they all count !.

"Ben Joyce" stepped up to give us the lead from the spot. However it was not to be !. The "Magpies" keeper made a great save to take the chance from us.

This was the moment that "Dennis Mason" pulled up sharp with the dreaded ham string. He no longer took part in the game. We hope it is not long before he can return to fitness again.

Sam Stevens came to us from across the Tamar. He had a good debut against Penzance, finding the net for our fourth goal.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Since his entry into senior league football, "Jamie Bass" has shown he can adapt. Signed to us from "Plymstock" he has filled the right flank in defence in a very confident manner. He was voted for the club award.

LATEST NEWS !

I have done a quick visit to Derriford Hospital to see our Dann Evans. I can report he is as well as expected, regarding his broken leg. The leg has been pinned, and further surgery is required. But there is a brave smile on his face and he knows we are wishing him all the very best at Parkway.

DARTMOUTH AWAY

BACK TO LEAGUE

DUTIES AT

"LONGCROSS"

After our slender defeat in the Vase Cup, we bounce back with an away win. A meagre crowd due to wet conditions saw us the stronger side. Taking the lead from the spot after "Shane Kracc" was fouled in the box. "Ben Joyce" stepped up and done the honours. Second half we scored again with a low shot from "Dennis Mason". Then it was "Joycee" again to clinch the game with our third goal. That was the result, but the game was marred with a serious injury to "Dann Evans" early in the first half. Dartmouth never gave up trying but found "Bailey, Chitty and John Heveran" a real brick wall !!.

THE RESULT WAS SOMEWHAT DAMPENED !!
Now we know the serious injury that "Dann Evans" suffered at "Longcross", we all hope that all will be OK. For me he is a star player at the club, and a good club man as well. As far as we know he has to face surgery to get him up fit and well again. This will be a serious blow to the club, having in mind what a key player he is. Confident on both feet, strong in the air and he delivers a strong tackle. I for one , and many others at Parkway wish him a quick recovery. Next Game home to Penzance Sat.

ILFRACOMBE AWAY F.A.VASE

MY GRANDSON LOST !

ARGYLE LOST!

AND WE LOST!

Not a good day.

It turned out to be a day not to be remembered. We started with only 10 men, had two red cards and on top of that we did not play well. You would not think this was the team that scored 16 goals in two games just previous. However it was unknown quality we were up against. No bad eggs, but we should have turned them over with ease. I only counted one player of Western League status, that was their right fullback. But they hit the target and we never. It must be said it was a great clear cut header from a corner that was to claim the game. But we were robbed of the more than blatant hand ball shout !! but the "Ref" thought different. To rub salt in the wound , it was admitted hand ball in the Club after ??.

It was a good day out, and the hospitality shown on the break to the powers to be at the club was top class. A quick mention for the "Charabang" driver for the day. It was "Duncan Hedges" who was once with us at Parkway. He done well, he never clipped the kerb once ??

ILFRACOMBE AWAY F.A.VASE

THIS WAS THE MOMENT WE DREADED ??

After the "Ref" had spoken to "Hobbo" for his strong tackling (and they all do !) I thought he was harshly dealt with in this incident. He had a quiet game the first half. But I knew it would be a different story for the second. But it was not to be. You can just see the RED CARD coming out of the "refs" back pocket ??

JUST OVER THE BAR ??
All is forgiven when "Dennis Mason" was 10Min's late for the kick-off, because he could not find the ground. But he nearly found the net with this spectacular first time shot !!.

THE SECOND RED !!
Without doubt "Sam Chitty" (CENTRE) was our best defender on the day. He was well in the frame for club Man of the Match. But late in the game ,his so called two footed tackle made the home supporters see red !! . The only snag was "Chitty" saw red as well ?? Next game away to Dartmouth Wed 26th .

ST BLAZEY AWAY

"ST BLAZEY" ARE BLASTED !!
It really was a walk in the park (Blaise Park). Knowing the home side are going through a bad patch, they had no answer for us. We scored with ease, with "Hobbo" on a hat-trick in the first 25 mins. He went on to notch his fourth goal before the break. His third goal was one of his specials from 30 yds out. Joining him on the score-sheet with another hat-trick for the game was "Ben Joyce". Then "Hobbo" fed a perfect ball for "Jimmy Alexandra". His first time shot rocked the back of the net to give us the tally of 8 goals. But it must be said they never gave up trying. I'm sure things will get better at "Blaise Park" soon. A mention for the hospitality shown at the break. It was top class. Sandwiches, biscuits and scones with real cream !!. Our "Jimmy Parsons" thought it was his birthday !!

CULLUMPTON RANGERS HOME

CULLUMPTON PINCH A POINT !!

For me, they were more than lucky to leave "Bolitho Park" with the single point. I thought we had done enough to claim the result. But to do that you have to hit the target. Also to register both goals by a central defender, it does make you think. We took the lead when "John Heveran" touched in from a free kick. They levelled the score with the help of the post, it was a one on one with the home keeper "Piper". They took the lead when the "Parkway" keeper expected the cross. But he went for the near post for a great goal. We saved the day with "John Heveran" getting his second goal on the night. It was a power header that cannoned into the back of the net !!. So after nearly 75% possession of the game, we share the points ???.

2 GAMES 3GOALS !!
That's not bad for a central defender. It was "John Heveran" to put his name on both goals. To give us the lead, brother "Paul" sent across the free kick for the chance for big brother "John" to find the net.

TAVISTOCK AWAY

THE "LAMBS" ARE BUTCHERED ??

Maybe my words are a bit strong ! but we were outstanding on the night. With head butcher "Hobbo" in charge, he hit four brilliant goals. His first, he came across the front of the goal and shot low to give us the lead. The "Lambs" had no answer for him. He scored 3 more during the game. His fourth goal, he worked the ball in from the bye-line, past all defenders and found the net. (brilliant). The squad played well in all departments. There were more than one name in the frame for the Man of the Match. But after thought, it went to "Hobbo". But one player don't win the game. It was a team effort. Ben Joyce, Dennis Mason, brothers John and Paul, (on the score sheet) our keeper "Pipes" all done their bit. Well played to all the squad !!

DENNIS MASON

Once again I have to refer to the extra fire power we have acclaimed by the way of "Dennis". His speed and skill on the ball was too much on the day for ex-Parkway defender "Neil Kinsman", who was his marker. Time and time again he opened up the chances for us to score.

GOAL NO 4
It is allways good to see defenders venture up into the firing line. Young "Paul Heveran" did just that. After good work coming from "Ben Joyce" he slipped the ball inside for "Hevers" to slam home to give the score-line 4-1.

HAPPY MANAGERS !!

Our joint powers to be at "Parkway", must have been pleased with the way we registered the win away from home. It was heard from the meagre crowd how well we played. I must say, on the night we would have been hard to beat ??. All thanks to the squad for the performance shown, in this so called local derby. Next game at home Tues 11th Oct "Collumpton ". See you there !! Stay tuned "lidds"

ST AUSTELL AT HOME

REVENGE WAS SWEET !!
On a glorious day, but a meagre crowd, saw us avenge the early defeat on the away fixture against the "Lillywhites". I thought we were favourites to win, but it was not easy. They got players behind the ball and made the chances few. Their first attack on our goal , would you believe they scored. A spawney touch in from a corner. We levelled through "Ben Joyce". "Hobbo" and "Lee Doel" then scored to see us on the break with a comfort margin of goals. Second half they never gave up, and got back in the game with a further goal. But we weathered that threat ! when "Dennis Mason" hit a cracker, followed shortly and to seal the game, "Ben Joyce" hit his second goal. It was a game we had to win, and we did just that. Can I boldly say, I was sorry to hear the parting of the ways of "Danny Brooks" from the squad. I for one liked "Brooksie", for his skill on the ball, and a great character that every club must have. I wish "Brooksie" all the best, I think he will need it ??

"GLYNN HOBBS" SMOTHERED ??
As soon as "Hobbo" touched the ball , he was smothered with the home defence. At one point near the bye-line, there was no less than 5 defenders trying to get the ball from him. But that don't bother him. He still found the net in the first half to give us the lead.

DANN EVANS
I for one, am always glad to see the presence of "Dann" in our starting line-up. For me he is a player who is too experienced to be on the bench ??. He came on late in the second half to protect our winning status at that point.

The "LILLYWHITES" FIND "CHITTY" A REAL STUMBLING BLOCK ?? (centre) It proved beyond doubt that the visiting "Cornish" front runners could not get the better of "Sam Chitty". He was a power of strength in our defence. For his outstanding performance, he was club Man of the Match.
Next game now on Friday away to Tavistock.
