DARTMOUTH TOWN AWAY

"PARKWAY PREVAIL AT LONGCROSS"
This eagerly awaited clash from the top of the table, was some-what attended by a meger crowd. Perhaps they were all out in their "yachts" ?? Anyway, the day was good.We had to suffer the early goal from them, but soon settled down and started to take control. We were back level after 18mins with a header coming from "Andy Sargent". A further goal from a "Brooksie" free kick was ruled off-side. This was a dubious decision to say the least. On the break we were ahead all thanks to "Shane Powell". Second half we well in charge and were on target twice again. They did get their second goal, but by then the game was in the bag!!. All thanks to the squad in the way they tackled this important fixture. Not forgetting the absence of key
players ,in the way of the "Berry bros Stuart and Mark". Scroll down now to see who completed the score-line. "Lidds"

"IT'S THERE !!"
"Andy Sargent" shows his delight when he served the home keeper a dummy ? This allowed "Shane Powell" floating cross to enter the net by the far post. "Lidds"

ILFRACOMBE F.A.VASE CUP

MARKING THE DAY
The day was marked with the first meeting between the clubs ,brought together for the F.A.Vase. We were taking on some-what unknown quality, but cup-ties are settled on the day. As it was, we had a dream start within the first 5mins when "Mark Berry" just managed to hook the ball back into the danger area. With the bounce of the high ball, their defence failed to stop the ball crossing the line. I thought the first half we were the more dominant side. Maybe going in on the break with more credit than the slender goal. After the break we some-what let them back in the game. I was all ready to see them score , to get them back on level pegs !. But we managed to soak up the pressure . The visitors then came at us , but in doing so had to contend with the quick breakaways. In the 80min it paid off. "Mark Berry" worked the ball to the near post, all credit to him he could have claimed the glory. But he laid the ball back gift wrapped for "Andy Sargent" to slam home. It was purely game over for "Ilfracombe". Scroll down for some action.

CONGRATULATIONS

"LYNCHIE SCORES AGAIN "
"James Lynch" who is our player -coach down at "Bolitho Park" has just been presented with a bouncing baby boy by his lovely wife "Bryony". Mother and baby are just fine. He weighed in at a mere 8lb 2 oz , and will be named after James father "Edward Alan Lynch". The score now for James is two each, two girls and two boys. But he tells me that extra time is cancelled ?? I feel sure all at Plymouth Parkway F.C. will wish them all the best, with the new member of the family.
(I wonder if he will play for Parkway ?? who knows!!)

IVYBRIDGE TOWN

PARKWAY'S JOINT MANAGERS
All thanks to our joint management team ,"Jez and Roger" in the way they have guided the team to be in the present stage of the season. They have always had to contend with key players side-lined through injury. But the squad have seen us through. The win over Ivybridge town was not easy, as we were not at our best. But when you are at the top, teams are out to turn you over ? The "Bridgers" should have taken the lead in the first 4mins. A golden chance was squandered. But chances like that have to be put away. The lucky goal by "Andy Sargent"gave us the lead in the second half . We then had to face the dreaded situation of ten men. "Brooksie"on a yellow card, was offered an early shower by the "ref" for a thoughtless tackle. With him sent off, it left a big gap in mid-field for them to run at us. But we weathered the storm. We were looking for a second goal to cushion the pressure. It came late in the game. A loose ball ran kindly for "Eddie Edwards" who blasted a pile-driver"in the roof of the net. Game over for the visitors. "Lidds"

IVYBRIDGE TOWN

"EDDIE EDWARDS"
Had a brilliant game in the back four as always. He came up in the second half and hit a pile-driver to register our second goal.

FALMOUTH TOWN

THE CAMERA DOES NOT LIE ??
In answer to comments on the Webb forum, our win over Falmouth was the topic. It was said that "Parkway" has not yet played any team of any degree. What about us beating "Bodmin 3-0, we drew with St Blazey 1-1 and now beating Falmouth". Who else is a threat "Mevagissey" ??? My second reply, to the fact that I reported that "Bowker" was somewhat squeezed out of the game. down at Bickland Park. Take a look mate! It's all there ??

FALMOUTH TOWN

"BRILLIANT WIN AWAY FROM HOME"
This top of the table clash was a great win for us, putting us back "flag-ship" once again in the league. The home crowd was elated when Falmouth took the lead in the first half. They defended well putting our chances slim. The main threat for us was obviously ex-Parkway player "Andy Bowker". But I thought his game low profile, being marshalled closely by "Eddie Edwards and big Joe Smith". After the break some strong words done the trick from "Roger and Jez". The brilliant hat-trick by "Mark Berry" secured the points. It was a good all round performance. Being a high profile game and having to come back after a goal down. We are now the team to catch ?? Scroll down for some action !!

FIRST HALF
I thought "Falmouth" defended well in the first half. They were easily taking care of any high balls. At this point leading by a slender goal.

MARK BERRY
On the chase ??

FALMOUTH TOWN

HAT-TRICK FOR MARK BERRY
Our front runner "Mark Berry", put a sad face on the home crowd with his three brilliant goals in the second half. His first to put us back level, was a perfect cross from "Martin Sullivan". His header crashed the back of the net. His second, again with "Sully" involved, shot low to beat the keeper. To complete the day, a similar through ball with just the keeper to beat. Unanimous vote for Man of the Match.

" Assistant Player Manager"
Andy Bowker
It was good to come up against an old face down at "Bickland Park"by the way of "Bowksie". He was a firm favourite at Parkway, both as a player and a member of the club. I myself was sorry to see him depart when he decided to find a fresh challenge. We wish him well.
