BODMIN AWAY

"LEVEL PEGS AT PRIORY PARK"
We had to be on our toes for the away battle at "Priory Park". On a perfect night, a good crowd saw a great game , played at 90 miles an hour. Early chances by both sides were wasted. But to be fair, both keepers were well in charge of the danger coming their way. However , the home side were the closest to breaking the dead -lock , when they hit the post on two strikes. But we managed to hold out to the bitter end , to register a valuable point away from home. Let us not forget, against the big-boys of the league. As promised , I will give mention to the brilliant hospitality given to the "Parkway Committee". The gift of a mug and a pen, and a "pasty", to all members, was top class. Top of the league for this season, for friendship within our league, goes to "BODMIN TOWN"

STAY TUNED "lidds!

"CHRIS WRIGHT"
Had a golden chance to give us an early lead, but shot over the bar.

"MATT HAWKE"
Done a splendid job keeping the main threat to us to a minimum, by the way of "Danny O'Hagan" (did he play ??)

"SIMON ZINN"
Our keeper had to be at his best, to equal "Bodmin's " keeper "Kev Turner" who is ex- pro. But "Zinnee" did not let us down. He was equal in all areas. Bringing off some fine saves. After some chin-wag in the club after , he put his name down for the man of the match.

LARKHILL ATH

LARKHILL ATH 2 PARKWAY 1 F.A.VASE

"BAD LUCK AT "LARKHILL"
We mark the day in the usual way, with club captain "Jamie Morrison Hill" seen here doing the honours. A glorious day but a meagre crowd by our standards. Play was end to end, but neither side as yet putting their stamp on the game. Open chances for the home side were somewhat squandered with poor finishing. We took the lead on the 30min marker, a perfect cross supplied by "Mat cCusack". It found "Chris Wright" on the far post to head home. Second half they got back in the game after 15mins. A low shot of good quality gave "Zinnee" no chance to save. Just when I was getting set for the return game at "Bolitho Park" they struck lucky. It was the 93rd min, a loose ball fell in their favour, the keeper came to narrow the gap, but the ball was lifted over his head and found the net. It was the Vase cup over for us. But the hospitality shown to us was good. However , not the result, but still a good day out. Scroll down for some action "Lidds"

SALTASH 3 PARKWAY 1

"ASHES TURN ON THE HEAT " !!
No report on the last two games, "bin on mee hols". But this is always an eagerly
awaited fixture between both clubs, separated only, not by skill, but by the the "River
Tamar". A good crowd saw some good football on display. We were more the prominent side in the first 30mins, and took the lead. "Simon Zinn"made the chance with his long dead ball kick. It pierced the home defence and needed only a slight touch for Chris Wright to beat the advancing "Ashes" keeper. However, they saw the break on level pegs. from a corner , "Toby Clarke" got the last touch to stab home a second ball. After the break they somewhat stepped up the heat, and took the lead. On many occasions I meet up with an old pal, "Dave Manley" who I played for and against in our football days. It must have made his day when his son "Shaun" was on the far post to put them flagship, with a great header. We tried to get back in the game ,but a further strike ended the day for us. We must now pick ourselves up, for the challenge away, to some unknown quality in the way of "Larkhill" in the F.A. Vase on Sat. Scroll down for some action but stay tuned.

Chris Wright was on target in the first half. Here he came close in the second period to put us back level.

"ZINNEE"
Parkway keeper "Simon Zinn", kept us in the game on many occasions. This was a great save from a free kick , well within scoring range. His safe handling during the 90mins earned him my "Man of the Match". This was an unanimous decision.

"Mat Cusack"

Had his hands full being marked by an ex-Parkway defender "Eddie Edwards". He was a firm favourite of mine at Parkway, both as a player and a good club-man.

Stay tuned "Lidds"
