PARKWAY UPDATE

"Dates for the Diary"
After our monthly meeting some dates have been confirmed for pre-season friendlies. But before that, it was disclosed that our vice-chairman "Mark Young" is to stand down in this roll. He will still be an ardent member of the club, but not in the official shirt of vice-chairman. The club fully understood the situation, now that his lad is about to enter senior football. So on match days his support will be elsewhere. But all is not lost. One of our junior Managers "Mark Blackwell" will fill this vacant position, under the guidance of "Mark". The ground looking good, and training well in control. We start our season friendly with a home game against no less the team just above us in stature "Plymouth Argyle.?" That will be an evening kick off on the Tues 14th July. Next is "Torquay Utd" at home 7-30pm Fri 17th July. Then as follows
23rd July Bridgewater away. 25th July R/M Lympstone away. 29th July Tiverton away. After that it will be time for a pint ??. We are to hold a social night with a race meeting to take place at the Lounge Inn at stoke. With all thanks being one of our sponsors. This is mainly to bind the teams together for the season ahead. Date for that one is Fri 31st July. So there we are up to date. stay tuned "Lidds"

NEW SEASON UPDATE

Update so far !!
As requested an update on events at Bolitho Park. The ground has received some tender loving care from the ground staff, Ernie and Alan, and all is looking good. The future plans on the club-house are still on-going. They say, Rome was not built in a day. I wonder how long they waited for their lease to come through ??. Anyway, training is well under way under the watchfull eye of Manager Dave Leonard and coach Mark Gammon. Common knowledge now we are to lose key players. Top club and league scorer Chris Wright, along with team mate John Haveran are to try their skills on the greener pastures of Kimberly Stadium, the home of Saltash Utd. We wish them both well. As club members they will be missed. A favourite of mine was skipper Jamie Morrison Hill. But in my book a strange choice. He has gone from top of the tree so to speak, to the bottom, and gone and joined "Baggy and Smithy" at Elburton Villa. But all faith in the powers to be, I'm sure we will replace what we have lost !!. As the squad takes shape I will keep you posted. Scroll down and keep tuned.

NEW SEASON UPDATE

"DANNY BROOKS"
One of my favourites at Parkway was "Brooksie". Not only his skill on the field, but a larger than life character that every club must have. I hear now ,that he is to pledge his skills now, farther afield on the shores of Falmouth Town. I for one wish him well. But to be on the safe side, tell him not to buy a full book of Bridge tickets for the season ??

NEW SEASON UPDATE

Neil Kinsman
Marc Bonney
"New players at Bolitho Park"
Some new faces for the squad by name of Marc Binney from Torpoint, and Neil Kinsman hails from Liskeard. I cannot quote on their ability, but I'm sure they both come with some pedigree.

NEW SEASON UPDATE

"Col Curtiss"
Who was an avid member of the Parkway squad of past, returns to us after a brief spell with Torpoint.

NEW SEASON UPDATE

"Arran Cusack"
Owing to holiday commitments, some players missed the annual Presentation night. So during the training stint this was put right. Here we see club Manager Dave Leonard doing the honours, for the club Managers player of the season.

NEW SEASON UPDATE

"Gareth Picknell"
Also missed the Presentation night. Here seen receiving from club Chairman Mark Rowles the sportsman of the year award for season 2008-2009. My thoughts are, he is going to be an important member of the squad for the season ahead.
