TORPOINT AWAY

"TOM PUNCHES CLEAR"
This game at the "Mill" was important to both sides looking for end of season points. More so for us at this point of time, going for second place in the league. A meager crowd by our standards, but the football was fast and end to end. But it took us until nearly the last kick of the game to claim the points. The home side should have scored in the 85min, but we managed to get bodies in the way to prevent the ball crossing the line. We then broke away, and a second ball ran loose to "Shane Powell". He done well to get on top of the bouncing ball, and shot low past the diving hands of the home keeper "Joey Sydrecombe". It was a little cruel on the home side , but as we all know, "that's football".

TORPOINT AWAY

MAN OF THE MATCH "MARTIN SULLIVAN"
Inspite of having one of "Torpoint's " experienced defenders to handle, he supplied plenty of good crosses for the front runners.

TORPOINT AWAY

"POWLEE PINCHES IT !!"
Shane Powell joined in on the attack what must have been the last two minutes. He hit a difficult loose ball to find the net, and away from the diving hands of the home keeper "Joey Syndrcombe".

VARSITY AT BOLITHO PARK

"MARJON'S VERSUS UNIVERSITY OF PLYMOUTH"
Once again we supply the venue for the annual battle between the Colleges. But we are happy to report that all went well. It was a great success. A lot of hard work taken on by a small few. So on behalf of the club chairman, "Mark Rowles", a huge thankyou to the chosen few who attended. Getting the ground prepared was no light task, also after the event, there is the big clean-up to do. Once again, well done !!
(PS. Not a Parkway player in sight ??)

NEWTON ABBOT HOME

"IT WAS SWEET REVENGE"
The home thrashing was on the cards, after the bad tempered defeat ,we experienced early in the season up at the Recreation ground. The early goal from them was short lived, and we went on to register eight goals. A poor crowd by our recent standards, but good football was on display. Johnny Morris got on the score sheet, along with two from Mark Berry to keep his challenge alive for top goal scorer. But the night belonged to "Andy Sargent", who put his name to no less than five goals. His best two for me , was from a cross supplied by "Paul Edwards", his first touch was good, he rounded his marker and finished. The second a pin-point cross coming from "Martin Sullivan", out jumping the defence to head home. He was obviously named the Man of the Match. It was a good all round performance, and now makes the run in to the end of the season more than interesting ?? Scroll down for some action !!

PARTING COMPANY ?

"DANNY BROOKS"
I can now report, that we have dispensed with the services of "Brooksie". It appears that being put on the bench up at "Launceston", he had different views ?. I myself liked "Danny", but we must remember the golden rule in football ! NO player is bigger than the club ??

LAUNCESTON AWAY

LAUNCESTON I PLYMOUTH PARKWAY 2
Our visit to Pennygillam is never one of our favourable venues. Also we had to avenge the early defeat at home that "Paul smith's" young side inflicted upon us. The elements had made the playing surface slippery, so good football was going to be difficult for both sides. Play was end to end, and took until 25mins before we got a shot on target. The deadlock was broken just before the break. A through ball found "Andy Sargent" beating the off-side trap. He showed some old skills rounding the keeper and with a low left foot shot, gave us the lead. Second half we had to soak up some pressure, so we had to look for the cushion of a second goal. It came in the 75min when one of "Lee Doel's" bustling runs, saw him up-ended in the box. Andy Sargent eagerly grabbed the ball and slotted away a fine penalty for our second goal. They got back into the game with a simple reply. So we had to win all the second balls, and the powers to be, brought on some fresh legs off the bench to protect the much needed away win.

PARKWAY V SALTASH UTD

LET BATTLE COMMENCE !!
Saltash Utd club secretary "Luke Ranford" and Parkway joint manager "Roger Fice" shake hands and may the best team win. This eagerly awaited clash would be a decider as to who will carry on the onslaught for the league title race. It turned out to be a slender win for the visitors. A hotly disputed penalty in the first half was to be the result. But on the night "Saltash" looked the more aggresive for the win. We had chances that were squandered, but in a game of this importance, you cannot afford to miss them. But for some great saves in the second half by the home keeper "Tom Blackler", the game would have been settled easier for them. It's by no means the end for us, but much more pressure now for our remaining fixtures to come.

PARKWAY V ELBURTON VILLA

"GAME ON"
It was good to see once again the home support at "Bolitho Park" for the local derby against "Elburton Villa". This is the first game for nearly a Month due to the elements. They saw a typical derby game, with 4 goals, a hatfull of yellow cards, one red, and a missed penalty. On the break we were level. Second half "Mat Green" who was an ex-Parkway player, put the visitors ahead. So it was shake-up time. But we suffered a further blow when "Tom Buckler" made a mess handling a high ball allowing it to cross the line. Courage was shown, and "John Heveran"got us back in the game beating the keeper with a low shot. The pressure was on, then Ryan Fice was brought down in the box. "Mark Berry"stepped up, but his well struck effort from the spot was well saved and turned away for a corner. But from the corner "Mark" got the final touch from close in to score and give us level pegs for the game. On the day it was a fair result. So it's Tuesday now for the next battle. home to Saltash 7-30pm

The Elburton keeper "Simon May" brought off a fine save to deny "Marks" well struck penalty. He turned the ball away for the corner. But "Mark" had the last laugh when from the corner, he got the last touch to score to bring us level pegs.
