IVYBRIDGE AWAY

"WE TAKE THE LEAD !"
Matty Cusack rounds the keeper to score.
I thought the point for us was on the day good. Having to play with key defenders missing by name, Josh Fenwick (broken nose) and big Matty Hawke with a badly cut foot, both sustained in our battle with Swanage. Play was scrappy with chances missed. We took the lead on 15mins after Craig Holman made the gap for Mat Cusack (pic) to round the keeper to score. It was Craig Holman again, lurking on the far post. From a corner he got the last touch for our second goal. It was untidy but they all count. They got one back before the break when a bad deflection found the net. Second half there was only one threat for us. On loan from Truro City was Stewert Yetton. He was a constant danger, and his added skill paid off. He brushed aside the challenge from the last defender and found the net to give the "Bridgers " level pegs. Its always a battle for us at "Erme Valley", especially when as I said, we had a somewhat depleted defence.

"WHO ME !!"
Yellow card for Stewert Yetton, after he gave the Parkway keeper a "fat lip". But all credit to the player, he waited for the recovery to shake hands.

"SAFE HANDS"
Parkway keeper "Ben Elphlick", made some good saves during the 90mins. Especially late in the game turning a header around the post , that was a sure match winner ??.

"NOT GOOD !!"

We arrive at "Erme Valley" to hear that key defender Matty Hawke is side-lined . He sustained a cut foot in our replay against Swanage. He left a big gap in our defence. Saturday now , F.A.Vase cup against St Blazey at home ????.

F.A VASE REPLAY

"THE SWANS WERE ALL AT SEA !!"
The replay went as I expected, on the hallowed turf of "Bolitho Park". I knew from the first game , that we would be too strong for them at home. A perfect night, and a good crowd saw some good football on display. The first 20mins they gave us some pressure, but then we settled down and were well in control. To give us the lead, Ross Saint fired low into the corner of the net. Before the break we struck again, this time Dean Smith found space and finished with a fine shot. Second half there was only one side in the tie. Jonny Morris got on the end of a cross from Mat Cusack, his first time shot crashed home. Off the bench came Gavin Cockman, and I knew full well with his strength he would add to their problems. How right I was when he found the target to bring the final tally of 4 goals. It was a sporting game and all credit to the visitors for their effort up to the 90min whistle. But on the night we were too strong in all areas. For my club man of the match award, it would have to be shared. I'm glad to say there were too many names in the frame for my final decision ??. Next game now on Sat away to our old rivals "Ivybridge Town". See you there.

We got level on the 80th min. Extra time was played but the replay was on the cards. Tues 22nd 7.45pm. See you there !!

BUCKLAND HOME

"CLUB SPONSOR"
All at "Bolitho Park" wish to thank once again, Gary Doel for his continued support of Parkway f.c. Gary is seen here with Jim Parsons club President. Sorry for the absence on the webb, but I have changed my server but it turned out to be a long job ??. On to the game, we played well enough, but could not find the net. Buckland at this present time are going well. They took the lead with an untidy goal in the first half. After the break we came more into the game. But the visiting keeper "Neil Montandon" was in fine form. Their goal was somewhat charmed with chances going just wide of the target. New boy Ryan Honey came off the bench, but more time will be needed before we cast our opinion. Big game now on Saturday away to Swannage in the Vase cup. Stay tuned.
