DEVON BOWL

WHAT A WEEK-END ??
Who would have thought we would claim the treble in the course of 5 days. Not a goal conceded in the three games. The "Devon Bowl" it must be said, we trotted out as slightly the under dogs ?. But in football as we all know, its on the day. Both sides defended well, and it was late in the game before we took over. It was that man again "Levi", finding space to score. He then was fed through by "Adam Carter" to find the net again . This was the killer blow for "Tivvy". They came at us, but "Ben" and the defence was there to protect the result. A brilliant display from the squad !

THROGMORTON CUP

HERE WE GO !!
To make the day complete, the pipe band lead the teams out. Also the elements were kind during the game. All in attendance saw a game mainly controlled by the defence. So the game was not a classic. However we got the result late in the game. Our "Willy" on a solo run, created a chance for "Levi" to find the target. Then big "Adam Carter" was brought down in the box. The red card was shown, and "Willy" completed the day from the spot. The final whistle was welcomed, let the celebrations begin !!

SALTASH AT HOME

TOP OF THE LEAGUE !!
At last we can say we are the best!. The victory over our close rivals puts us league "CHAMPIONS". A bumper crowd saw a game that could have gone anyway. But all credit to the squad, they battled for every ball. The early goal from "Levi", gave us the inspiration to win. We did just that with a second goal , a lovely left foot free kick, from again "Levi". Our defence was solid at the back, remembering the absence of the injured "Gavin Coulton". We pressed forward looking to secure the result. It nearly came when "Adam Carter" hit the crossbar with the keeper well beaten. Then an option from the bench was to pay dividends. "Ryan Richards" was on the field, and in a matter of two minutes he slotted home the third goal. For the "Ashes" now, it was no comeback. Well done to our manager "Wayne" and his assistant "Lee". For guiding us through to the championship title.
          LET THE CELEBRATIONS BEGIN !!

SALTASH AT HOME

GOAL NO 2
After "Adam Carter" was fouled just outside the area, it was "Levi" to step up and find the pace to beat the long outstretched arms of the "Ashes" keeper. This gave him his second goal, and two nil lead for us.
                    "lidds"

SALTASH AT HOME

"ADAM CARTER"
Played a more than prominent roll in the victory. He created the chance for the first goal by "Levi". Then he was brought down just outside the box for the free kick. For which "Levi" found the target. So he was in the frame for the club award. But alas, its goals that win games, but I will say again, he did play well.
              "lidds"

SALTASH AT HOME

YEH! CHAMPIONS !!

TAVISTOCK AWAY

ONE WAY TRAFFIC !
The "Lambs" had no answer to us on the night. But on the break we only had the slender one nil lead. Second half we coasted through the game with ease. On the score-sheet we saw "Adam Carter" with 2 goals. "Ryan Richards" hit 3 to make our tally of 5. But they were nothing spectacular ! all were within the box. But they still counted. One bad moment for us when we lost "Gavin Coulton"(hamstring). This will be a blow to us at this cructial stage of our season. But we have more than adequate talent on the bench to call on. But we all must agree, "Gav" in our defence line up, is a bit special !. So now its one to go, "Saltash" at home ????. ( Sorry for the delay this time, I had internet problems.)
   stay tuned   "lidds"

TAVY AWAY

"THE LAMBS KEEPER"
In the first half we inflicted a series of corners on the home side , keeping their keeper on his feet !
                "lidds"

TAVY AWAY

THIS WAS CLOSE !
"Adam Carter" was unlucky here ! he beat the keeper with the header, but just wide of the post.
              "lidds"

TAVISTOCK AWAY

MAN OF THE MATCH
After a overwhelming victory, it is hard to place someone top of the list for the club award. However, after some debate we have our winner. "Stevie Colwell" takes the honour. One game to go ! you better be there ??

EXMOUTH AWAY

LEVEL PEGS AT "SOUTHERN ROAD"
A glorious day,a good crowd, saw a fast and fierce game. But more important a result vital to both clubs. However, the scoring chances were going to be few. I thought the defence from both sides were in control of the action. They were the main reason keeping the score-sheet negative. The central defender of both teams being the main issue. Namely "Gavin Coulton" for us. The closest chance for the result was a free kick for them. The shot cannoned back off the bar back into play. So the final whistle it was level pegs. But they had  reason to celebrate having secured the position to take promotion, for which they are to take. We wish them good luck, which I think they will need ??
                Stay tuned  "lidds"

EXMOUTH AWAY

"RYAN RICHARDS"
Found himself heavily shadowed during the 90 mins of play.
              "lidds"

EXMOUTH AWAY

"BASSIE"
Had a more than prominent game and saw a lot of the ball, for which he done well. One of the fastest players on the ball in the squad.
                "lidds"

EXMOUTH AWAY

"GOOD DEFENDER" ?
Out of their defence, I picked out this "fella" who was the main stumbling block for us.
            "lidds"

EXMOUTH AWAY

JUST WIDE !!
"Danny Lewis" found room to shoot, but his effort was just wide of the target.
               "lidds"

EXMOUTH AWAY

IT WOULD NOT JUST GO IN ??
Very late in the game, we forced upon the home defence a series of corners. Giving the home keeper some anxious moments.
     "lidds"

EXMOUTH AWAY

MAN OF THE MATCH
Once again we see "Gavin Coulton" come to the top of the vote for the club award. Next game is Wed May 7th away to "Tavy". We power on for the vital points ??

WITHERIDGE AT HOME

IT WAS "NERVE RACKING" ??
First of all, all credit to the squad showing character and determination coming back from two goals down. It was a shock but they were both good goals. Also the visitors were down to 10 men for a two footed tackle.  A small crowd saw us back in the game shortly before the break. Danny Lewis from a corner. After, it was us looking for level pegs. It came early when "Ryan Richards" tapped in from close in. We were flat out now for the winner. It was very late in coming. However, "Levi" hit the cross-bar, and the rebound was volleyed home first time by "Danny Gaze". He was absolutely flattened by his team- mates in getting the winner. It was difficult ! but we press on ??   All those who chose to stay at home to watch "Chelsea"   Shame !!
              "lidds"

WITHERIDGE AT HOME

WERE BACK IN THE GAME !
Just before the break "Danny Lewis" was on the near post to head home  from a corner. With the score-line at 2-1 for them, it was game on ?
                      "lidds"

WITHERIDGE AT HOME

LEVI  LANDRICOMBE
Although for once not on the score-sheet, he went close in the second half crashing the bar. But in the first half, his pin-point corner found "Danny Lewis"on the near post to head home and get us back in the game.
                         "lidds"

WITHERIDGE AT HOME

RYAN RICHARDS
We saw and welcomed the return of young "Ryan", back to his scoring days at "Bolitho Park". He gave us level pegs soon after the break slipping the ball over from close in.
                  "lidds"

WITHERIDGE AT HOME

DANNY GAZE FOR THE WINNER !!
Very late in the game "Levi Landricombe" saw his left foot blaster cannon back off the bar. But it was "Danny" on hand to volley the rebound first time to find the net, and the much needed result.
                       "lidds"

WITHERIDGE AT HOME

MAN OF THE MATCH
For his outstanding performance in the defence, alongside "Gavin Coulton", it was a hard choice ! But "Mike Landricombe" got the final nod for the club award. Next game the big one away to "Exmouth Town"  Sat May 3rd.  See you there ??
