STOKE GABRIEL HOME

WE TAKE THE LEAD.
"Mike and Levi" thank "Rocky" for creating the chance for the opening goal. This was to be the first of many. A poor crowd braved the elements, but were rewarded on the outcome. There was 2 hat-ricks within the 10 goals scored. Too many for any detail, but it included 3 scored from the spot. "Levi" put his name on 5, and "Trotty" slotted away 3 from the spot. You might say it was a stroppy game with the penalties. But no, it was a matter of nigly fouls, 3 of which inside the box. They did reply with 2 consolations goals. But it must be said with the score-line stacked against them, they never gave up trying to get back in the game.
                                                                                          "lidds"

"Levi" leans back to head the ball for a half dozen score-line. But this time it was over the bar.

STOKE GABRIEL HOME

SEMI FINAL IVYBRIDGE

DONT WORRY! THE SHOT WAS WIDE
Well, the game had everything. A few yellow cards, 2 red cards, a crap referee , six goals  !and a shower of rain. What more do you want for 2 quid. We took the lead from "Levi", a good snap shot to find the net. They were back level from a free kick struck well from  30yds out. That saw the break. Soon after a free kick "Rocky" headed us flagship from a corner. We then lost "Bassie" on a second yellow. But they managed to level with a sloppy goal  to get back in the game.So now it was the dreaded extra time. But it was now who was the dominate side. We targeted the result when "Rocky" , his shot took a deflection but still found the net. Then the deadly through ball for "Levi", that was the end for them. His low shot saw us to secure the final, line 4-2. So we are now at "Torpoint" on the 10th May . Heh ! see you there . We are up to retain the title  ????                                            "lidds"

SEMI FINAL IVYBRIDGE

MAN OF THE MATCH
After the difficult "semi" final, it was a hard choice for the final vote for the club Man of the Match. But after the chatter in the bar it was a final vote for defender "Paul Heveran" to take the prize. To do the presentation general manager "Gez Baggott" stepped up assisted by the young "Charlie Watson" to get in the picture. So we see ourselves in the final to retain the trophy. That will be on the Sunday May 10th at "Torpoint". Heh ! see you there ?

IVYBRIDGE AWAY

"JUMP GAV"
Our visit to "Erme Valley" turned out as expected. A hard fixture for both clubs. Its a pity the football did not match the weather. From both sides the play was a little untidy, with the passing of the ball going astray. However, no one in control for the first half. Soon as play resumed they got the single goal for the game. A low shot well struck by the near post. We battled on , but not to look for excuses we were key players missing. Central defender "Gavin Coulton" missed his right hand man in "Mike Landricombe" in defence. For us his brother "Levi", up front to score. We have been told some "doughnut" have decided to get married !! Ha! Ha!. But joking apart you cannot expect to be at your best with players of their calibre not playing. We will be at our full strength when we battle again on Wednesday at "Elburton" in the "semi". I have a sneaky feeling it will be a different story to tell ??
                                                        "lidds"

IVYBRIDGE AWAY

"LEE DOEL"
Ex-Parkway "Doely" tries to break away from our defence. His style of play well known to us all, but during the game he did not bother us too much .

IVYBRIDGE AWAY

"PARKWAY KEEPER"
Getting down low in the first half to save, "Josh Colwill" made a brilliant save in the second, tipping the ball over to keep the score-line to the single goal.

IVYBRIDGE AWAY

"GAVIN COULTON"
Tried time and time again for one of his inspiring runs at their defence. But to no avail.

IVYBRIDGE AWAY

TAKE IT EASY "ROCKY" !!
I wont bother to challenge for this one. Its too high for me. Let the keeper have it !!

IVYBRIDGE AWAY

"HEAVILY SHADOWED !!
For the obvious reasons our "Andy Neale" found himself not very far away from the  "Ivy" defenders for most part of the game.

IVYBRIDGE AWAY

"JUST WIDE"
Late in the game "Lance Bailey" came up for the corner. His glancing shot was just wide of the target. Never mind the result for this game .The important one is Wednesday, when we take them on again in the "semi". This time with a FULL squad !!  See you there

QUARTER FINAL W.C.PARSONS CUP

HERE WE GO ??
Taking the field for this unknown quality in our visitors namely "Callington Town". It turned out to be a difficult 90 mins. We saw ourselves on the break 1 nil down. To be honest we were not at our best. However, we rallied and an got the early leveller when "Rocky" headed home close in a goalmouth scramble. We had the best of the play, but were lucky when they hit the crossbar with a great effort. It was on the cards for us to score. It came with a through ball that found "Levi". Say no more ! his low shot found the net. Time now getting short, and they were still in the game. But it was "Levi" again providing the chance for "Chris Wright" to put the result in our favour late in the game. We are now to face our local "Ivybridge town"in the semi-final. So now we have  the challenge to go out and retain the holders of the " W.C.Parsons Cup".  Can we do it ??

He chased a through ball and his low shot gave us the lead .

At the end of the game the team rally to thank the firm of    "Energy Saving", for being our main sponsor at the club.

CALLINGTON AT HOMW

MAN OF THE MATCH
No bones! it was a hard choice at the 90min marker. But I thought he got the goal to put us flagship. Then he made the opening for the game to be safe with our third goal scored by "Chrissie Wright". This sees us through to the "SEMI"  ??

LAUNCESTON AT HOME

SUPPORTING CROWD !
BUT WERE YOU THERE !! An average crowd saw us bounce back to winning ways after the fixture for shared points at "Southern Rd". However on a cold night ,they were rewarded with a hat-trick from "Andy Neal", and a solo goal by "Levi" to give us flagship 4 nil on the break. The "Clarets" had no answer to the pace of "Rocky or Levi". To add to their problems at the back, we had "Gavin Coulton and Mike Landricombe", who were well on top of their game. Two more goals by "Levi" gave the second hat-trick in the game, and a six clear goal result. But all the squad performed good, to give the powers to be in charge at the club,"Lee and Wayner", hope for the important fixture away at "Callington Town". This is the quarter final of the W.C.Parsons" cup. Keep an eye on the elements because if the weather is bad , it could be a change and played at "Bolithio Park".! Apart from that stay tuned !

EXMOUTH AWAY

HE'S GOING NOWHERE ??
"Paul Heveran" and Gavin Coulton" team up in the away fixture at "Southern Road". Both teams were I guess, were happy for the slender point shared at 90mins. After only 8 mins of play "Exmouth Town" failed to register the lead from the spot. But they still found the target with two simple goals before the break to put us under threat. Second half with the "Southern Rd" slope in our favour, It was one way traffic. We pounded their goal, and it was "Andy Neal", latching on to a second ball to find the net. Soon after a long ball was badly misjudged on the bounce. It was "Levi"who headed the ball on its way into the net to give us level pegs. We went now for the winner forcing them to kick anywhere. Hitting the woodwork on good efforts. One of which a spectacular overhead scissor kick by "Marcus Martin", that crashed against the bar and back into play. Time was now against us, so we had to be content with the single point for the I hope, a safe journey home.
                                                           "Lidds"

EXMOUTH AWAY

NEW BLOOD !
We welcome to the squad "Danny Sullivan", who hails to us from ex "Torquay and recently Truro City". Early days yet, but he showed some nice touches, and was more than eager for the ball.

EXMOUTH AWAY

PENALTY !!IT WAS A GOOD SAVE
Although the image looks conceiving ! "Josh" in the Parkway goal picked the right side to dive, and turned the ball around the post after only 8 mins of play.

EXMOUTH AWAY

"TOWN KEEPER"
Here we see young "Rocky", up against the home keeper. "Andy" did beat him for our first goal, but I have to say he did play major part in keeping us at bay.

EXMOUTH AWAY

IN THE BACK !!
Big defender "Mike Landricombe" always comes up for any corners. This was a definite shove in the back, but not given. Alongside his mate "Gavin Coulton", we were solid at the back.

EXMOUTH AWAY

"Levi"  TRIES ONE !!
The chances for "Levi" to open up with that deadly left foot of his, were Im afraid few and far between. This one just skimmed the bar.

EXMOUTH AWAY

MAN OF THE MATCH
For his goal to start our comeback into the second half, and his determination during the 90mins of play, it was "Andy Neal".
Next battle is at home to "Launceston" Tues March 10th 7.30pm. Love to see you there !!
