ST BLAZEY AT HOME

HERE WE GO !! GAME ON.
A good crowd as expected saw an entertaining game with 5 goals. Two of which were above average. "Hobbos" 30yarder, and "John Heveran" power header. But we "blaized" the "St Blazey" outfit out of the game. They had no answer to our team effort on the night. It was a spirited game with some good football on display. On the break we were 3-o flagship, so the powers to be in the second half played all the options from the bench. Which is what I like to see. This convincing win will put us in a good frame of mind for the "semi-final" on Wednesday ?? Scroll down to see the score-sheet and Man of the Match.

"BROOKSIE" GIVES US THE LEAD !!
After only 12 mins of play we start the ball rolling ??. "Chris Wright" takes the credit for the chance to register our first goal of the game. His simple ball fed through for "Danny Brook" to find the net.

2 GOALS FOR "HOBBO"
His first strike after 22mins was a blaster from 30yds out. The second goal to his credit was before the break ,when "Chris Wright" gave him the opening to pick his spot to make it 3 nil.

GOAL NO 4
After some clever footwork by "Shane Kracc" on the bye-line, his cross was met with a power header by "John Heveran",that crashed the back of the net, giving ex -Parkway keeper "Blackler" grasping thin air to save.

WE REGISTER 100 GOALS
A pin-point free kick floated in by "Jimbo", it found "Andy Sargent" with the goal at his mercy. His header registered "Parkways" fifth goal for the night, and the 100 goal tally for league goals for the season so far.

MAN OF THE MATCH
The task to name the player this game was down to "Richard Dingle", who was a more than prominent player in the league in his time of playing. "Richard" has been an asset to the club in more ways than one. He gave his vote on the night to "Shane Kracc", for the club award.

WADEBRIDGE TOWN AWAY

NOT TOO HAPPY !!
BUT STILL 3 POINTS !!
Perhaps the Managers were not too pleased with the performance in the game. But we still journeyed home with all three points. On the break leading by 2 goals the game was still not secure. They caught us on the break in the second half when a cross was turned in from close in. Remembering also there were key players rested on the bench. But chances came to put the game beyond their reach. But they were squandered. Firstly "Wrighty" headed two chances away. "Andy Sargent" then put right through, but lobbed the ball kindly into the keepers hands. On the bright side, they were lucky when "Lance Bailey" saw his brilliant effort cannon back off the post. All thanks to the true supporters for making the trip down, and trust we all returned safe and sound.

WADEBRIDGE TOWN AWAY

LEE COXAN
This time "Coxsie" started the game from the whistle. He made the most to impress the powers to be. On the 40min marker he cut in from the right flank. His left foot shot curled nicely away from the keeper and into the far corner to give us the lead.

GLYNN HOBBS
As always in any game "Hobbo" is heavily marked. But he still showed them his potential strength just before the break. He brought down a high ball and found the net for our second goal.

CLUB AWARD
Putting in some solid performances in our defence with his natural left foot. His coolness under pressure and ball control, against Wadebridge it was all there. Club award on the night Man of the Match goes to Lee Bevan.

WADEBRIDGE TOWN AWAY

ANDY SARGENT
One of the options from the bench was "Sargie". He had the chance to get the third goal we needed. But his one on one with the keeper was wasted.

MISSED CHANCES !!
Chrissie Wright had the chance to get on the score-sheet twice. One he headed over the bar. The second, a pinpoint cross for him he headed wide ??. Next game now Friday 25th at home to St Blazey.

BODMIN AWAY

POINTS DROPPED AT "PRIORY PARK"
BUT ONLY JUST ??
This top of the table clash saw us go under for the first time in the league since Nov 27th when we dipped against Launceston. But the win was slender. No way were they better than us . Play was end to end, with both defences playing a major outcome of the result. However, they were the better side after the break, and had the chance with the penalty shout. But the spot kick was wasted and "Ben" saved easy. Then late in the game a loose ball fell for "Ohagan" who found the net from close in. We then suffered a red card with "Brooksie" sent off. But I thought we played them well, and they must have welcomed the 90min whistle. But a good day out and the hospitality was spot on . Thankyou.

BODMIN AWAY

A LIVELY ENCOUNTER !!
Before his injury that saw him side-lined, ex-Parkway player Mark Berry had to contend with the skill and strength of our "Lee Bevan". In my book it proved too much ??.

BODMIN AWAY

PARKWAY KEEPER
"Ben Elphick" brought off some fine saves during this high profile game. Not forgetting saving the penalty in the second half. For his performance I awarded him our club Man of the Match.

IT DOES HAPPEN !!
Ex-Parkway player "Mark Berry" came off worse in the challenge. He needed some female attention, but it was more serious than we knew. All at "Parkway" wish him a speedy recovery.

ANOTHER RED CARD !!
Yet again we suffer the fate of the red card. This time as all ways it is a key player within the squad. Danny Brook a favourite of mine, picked up the marching order late in the game. It had no reflection on the result. But I fear it will catch up on us with our involvement in our cup prospects. We will see ??

ELBURTON VILLA HOME

BRAVE 10 MEN "VILLA" (Brooksie gives the lead)
The early red card for "Mark Condy" did not do the visitors any favours. The stamp on "Marc Bonney" gave him the early shower. We took control from then, Danny Brook finding the net squeezing the ball in by the near post on 32 mins. "Hobbo" limped off injured followed shortly by "Andy Sargent". Before the break we went ahead again, "Lance Bailey" got the final touch after a series of passes in front of goal. Second half we coasted through with the 2 nil margin enough to claim the day. A good crowd saw a brave "Villa" battle to the end. But on the night we were too strong in all departments. Lance Bailey and John Heveran gave no chances for the experience of "Lee Harvey"and completely ushered him out of the game. A good win for this local derby ??

SALTASH AWAY

THE "ASHES ARE DAMPENED AGAIN " ??
"BEN PUNCHES CLEAR"
Having recently dumping them out of the "Throgmorton Cup", we were too much to handle for this league encounter. We took the lead after a free kick on 12 mins, when John Heveran headed down for Andy Sargent to finish. Glynn Hobbs then increased our lead with a great solo effort finding the net with a low shot. But chances were there for us to claim the game beyond any come back, in the first half. But it must be said the home keeper "Paul Hider" kept us at bay.We then suffered the blow losing "Hobbo" on a second yellow. Second half the "Ashes" had plenty of the ball. But having said that you still have to score. "Ben" in the Parkway goal made some fine saves punching the ball clear. It is always a bonus winning the so -called local Derby's. So far we are doing Ok !!

EARLY SHOWER FOR "HOBBO" ??
This was the moment we all dreaded. "Hobbo" for a hasty challenge got the second yellow card. It was disappointment for him , as he was having a great game. Scoring a brilliant second goal for us, he was a tower of strength to handle. The home side thought they would be in to take the game, against our ten men. But they failed to consolidate the situation. Plenty of possession ?? but you have to score ??.

ROYAL MARINES HOME

THE MARINES COME UNDER FIRE !!
AND WHERE ARE THEY ??
Despite that "other" team playing away, and a nice sunny afternoon, we only could rustle up a small crowd. But they saw a lively game and 5 goals. We saw the break in front by the slender goal coming from Glynn Hobbs. But it was not too easy, they came at us with guts and determination. The powers to be "Wainer and Gez" played it smart and used the options off the bench by the way of fresh legs. It done the trick. They could not find the live ammo to penetrate our defence. The second welcomed goal saw "Hobo" make the chance for "Sargie" to slot home from close in. We were then in control. Danny Brooks fed the ball for "Chris Wright" for goal number three. "Brooksie" again tried a shot from 30yds, it should have been saved but the keeper let the ball slip over his grasp into the net. They fought back bravely, but "Hobo" then put the final touch to the game with a low shot and register the 5-0 victory.
