TAUNTON TOWN FRIENDLY

THE "PEACOCKS" UNDER PRESSURE !!
We performed well I'm told against Taunton Town who hail in the Evo-Stik Div 1 South and West. That puts them in stature 2 leagues above us. However, Al Horswill reports we were up for the challenge. A reasonable crowd saw 8 goals and play end to end. Going 2-0 down "Sargent" got one back before the break. They levelled but then we took over. "Hobbo" came on and enjoyed the day with a hat-trick. One of them a pile -driver !!. Shane Kracc made the tally of eight. In my absence I'm told I missed a great game of football. Also a big thank you to my grandson "Jake" who supplied all the images. On a mobile phone, I thought he done well.

HAT-TRICK HOBBO !!

Glynn, who came on for us in the second half, looks to the crowd in jubilation after completing the tally of three goals. He was outstanding , and the Taunton defence had no answer for his power. We start now in ernest on Friday, away to Saltash at Kimberly Stadium. 7.30pm. Stay tuned "lidds"

STOKE GABRIEL AWAY

THE BUILD SO FAR !!

Now the footings are in the block work is well under way. Contractor Gary Doel is well pleased and reports all is on target. Not being able to make Stoke Gabriel prior to being "henpecked",(ha! ha!) my eyes at the game was Al Horswill. He told me the squad played some great football. Taking the lead by Ben Joyce from a penalty. Then they levelled for the break. Chris Wright with a beauty put us back in front. Lee Doel and Matt David completed the score-line. So the squad is beginning to take shape. I think we will be an outfit to be catered for in the new season. Once again I thank Alan for the report on the game. Just for the record ? he has attended more than 653 games, league, cup and friendlies without a break. In my book that is dedication. That will be a record that will stay unchallenged for a long time. Stay tuned.

GILLINGHAM FRIENDLY

GILLINGHAM TOWN
As always we mark the day at "Bolitho Park". But the side who hail from Western League Div 1, found themselves outclassed in all positions. Two goals in the first 15 mins paved the way for the friendly win. On the score-sheet saw Glynn with 2, Lee Doel , Dennis Mason, Foley and Chris Wright made the tally of six. The new blood at "Parkway" fitted in well. Namely Dennis Mason, and Ben Joyce, who will be added strength up front. Then we have players of quality with the likes of Dann Evans and Matt David who will feature in our defence. This now will be the headache for the managers at the club, who will make the starting line-up on the first game. I'm sure their choice will be spot on. It was a lovely afternoon, but the crowd was somewhat lacking. Sunshine, six goals, one red card and a pint. What could be better. Got to be better than that film on I.T.V. (Where the river bends) good grief, get a life ??

2 GOALS FROM "HOBBO"

The visitors from "Dorset" had no answer for "Glynn". Here he brushes aside the challenge with ease. Within the first 15mins he gave us the 2 nil lead.

GROUND UPDATE

THE FIRST BLOCK IS LAID !!

The honour to start the project running fell to 84 year old "Charlie Baggott". A well seasoned builder in his time, "Charlie", has been the brains behind the ground as it stands today. Father of club manager "Gez", he is a larger than life character at the club. Here he is laying the foundations watched carefully by main contractor for the build "Gary Doel".

NEW BLOOD AT "BOLITHO PARK"
One of the new signings to grace the hallowed turf at "Parkway", will be Dennis Mason". A player of above quality acclaimed from our local rivals "Ivybridge Town".
I feel he will be an added asset to our club. Stay tuned for the new building project at the ground. "Lidds"
