F.A.CUP AGAINST CHARD

HERE WE GO !!
Not to reflect on the result of last season when we scored double figures here. The first half was fairly even. They took the lead on 8mins. But we were back level pegs before the break. "Willy" fed the ball back into the box from a corner. It fell for "Warren Daw" to stab home. But second half with the provident slope in our favour, it was a different game. "Warren Daw" powered us into the lead with his second goal. It was a blaster from 30yds. Then "Sam Cooper" found the net with the chance set up by "Marc Berry". In the dying minutes of play, the killer blow from "John Heveran", lurking on the far post. He headed in from a corner for our fourth goal. A fine performance from the squad to enter us into the next round. This will be a stronger challenge against our old enemy "Buckland" at home. But let us remember ! its on the day that counts ??

F.A.CUP

THEY TAKE THE LEAD !
With our players claiming the ball was over the byeline, the goal was given for them after 8 mins of play.

F.A.CUP

JOHN HEVERAN
Was a real stumbling block for any "Chard" front runner. He was faultless for the whole 90mins of play.

F.A.CUP

WILL SRINGER
Saw a lot of the ball, having a strong game in our defence.

F.A.CUP

MARC BERRY

Skinned his defender in the second half, and fed the ball through a mellee of players for "Sam Cooper" to slam home for our third goal.

"WARREN DAW IS MOBBED"!!
After "Warren" found the net with his 30yd blaster, he gets mobbed by his team mates , and quite rightly so !!

"HEVERAN" STRIKES !!
Central defender "John Heveran" in the dying minutes of the game, lurking on the far post, heads home from a corner to give us the fourth goal and game over for them !!.

CHARD F.A. CUP

MAN OF THE MATCH
A broad smile from "Warren Daw" who captured the day with two goals. His second goal was a blaster from about 30yds to give us the lead. A goal that would be a credit and a talking point on any Match of the day. He put his name on the club Man of the Match award. Next game Sat F.A.VASE at home to "Gillingham Town".

DANN EVANS
This image of "Dann" should be shown on the last insert and the readout about him. Sorry for the mess-up.

TAVY AT HOME

WE FAIL TO DAMP THE "ASHES"
This local derby was as expected. A fair crowd saw an exciting battle with our neighbours across the "Tamar". Saltash took the lead after 5 mins of play. John Heveran got us level, and two goals from Lewis Young should have sealed the result. But then their central defender "Gavin Coulton" took control. When he runs at you , you are in trouble. He did just that. Not scoring but setting up the chances for them to get back level. The equalizer for them was 2 mins from time. But it was a good game and turned out to be a  typical local derby.

TAVY AT HOME

2 GOALS FOR "YOUNGIE"
2 mins after drawing level "Lewis Young" hit a beauty to give us the lead. He had a good game and hit his second goal through a mellee of players to give us a healthy 3-1 scoreline.

STANDIN KEEPER
With the prolonged injury to regular keeper "Martin Piper", we yet again have to call upon "Ian Evans" who keeps goal for the seconds. But I have to say he never lets us down.

TAVY AT HOME

GOT US BACK ON LEVEL PEGS !
You just can't keep him down. Central defender "John Heveran" from a pin-point corner from "Raz", headed us back level on 20 mins of play.

WARREN DAW
In this hard fought out local derby, "Warren" was a power of strength in our mid-field. He is one player out of two for the award for  Man of the Match .

GOOD NEWS

GREAT NEWS
The time before I called on "Dann" he was laid up after receiving that bad injury while playing for us up at Dartmouth. Being ex-pro, obviously he is a player of above pedigree for our league. It was a blow for us when we lost his services to play.A player I myself greatly admired. But I met up with him at the ground and tells me he is back playing again, that was brilliant news. He is all be it, turning out for "St Blazey" down at Blaise Park. As I told him, when he gets fed up travelling all that way down every week, he knows where we are ??? Next game away to "Chard Town" in the F.A.Cup. Sat. Wish us luck !!

TAVY AT HOME

THE "LAMBS" COME SECOND !!
In this so- called local derby, we came best of the seven goals scored. The heavens were cruel and a poor crowd braved the elements. Within 30secs we were ahead with Ryan Richards finding the net with "Tavy" never even touching the ball. He went on to complete the hat-trick. The other goal was registered by Lance Bailey. With the scoreline reading 4-1 for us, you would think the game was under control. But they fought back to bring the 90min result 4-3. However, it was good to get the first game in the league with 3 points in the bag !!. I must apologise for the images, rain and cameras d'ont go well together ??

ON THE ATTACK
"Lewis Young" starts an early onslought on the visitors goal.

TAVY AT HOME

THE "LAMBS" BRICKWALL !!
In my book, one of the best defenders in our league. The visitors "Menhenick" was a stumbling block throughout the 90mins.

TAVY AT HOME

STRONG APPEAL FOR HANDBALL !!

TAVY AT HOME

HAT-TRICK
Probaly scoring the fastest goal for the season in the league. I would say within 30secs. "Tavy" never even touched the ball. He finished the game with the well acclaimed hat-trick. He was the obvious choice for the club award Man of the Match. Next battle now another local derby "Saltash Utd" at home on Friday 17th. See you there !!   "lidds"

F.A.CUP

THE PRESENTATION
As always on cup matches we do the honours. We welcome "Welton Rovers" to "Bolitho Park". We were blessed by the heavens for a nice day. A good crowd saw some good football for our first venture in the F.A.Cup. We went a goal down by the first corner they forced upon us. From the spot we levelled "Will Stringer"doing the honours. He then gave us the lead two minutes later with a great header. At this point we were on top, and it was "Marc Berry" to seal the game with the third goal. The powers to be at the club, must have been pleased the the team got the result.

F.A.CUP

EARLY PRESSURE
Taking on unknown quality, in the first half. I thought we had chances to find the target to score.
  "lidds"

F.A.CUP

WILL SRINGER
After getting us back level all be it from the spot. Then two minutes later he headed us into the lead from a free kick. Here he is seen being scragged by his team-mates. He was well in the frame for my Man of the Match. But the the choice was not mine on this game.

F.A.CUP

A CHANCE MISSED ?
The look on "Ryan Richards" face says it all. He tried to chip the keeper. But his feeble effort fell into the keepers hands.
  "lidds"

F.A.CUP

BERRY STRIKES !!
This goal put the game beyond the visitors reach. Lewis Young fed the ball into the path of Marc Berry. He beat the keeper to the ball and picked his spot with a low shot for our third goal.

F.A.CUP

SAM COOPER
Not on the scoresheet, but caused havoc for the Welton defence.

"SPARKSIE GETS THE VOTE"
For a solid game in our defence within the 90mins of play. Marc Bonney starts the season winning the first Man of the Match club award. Next game in the league Tues Aug 14th at home to Tavistock. Stay tuned,

F.A.CUP

JUST A LITTLE HUMOUR !!
All this week, everybody walking around flashing off their medals. So I thought I would dig one of mine out. Winning many cups and trophies mainly for football and cricket. But the first one is a bit special. Hence some 60 years ago, 100 yds sprint at school. What did I get for winning ?   BRASS !!
   Stay tuned  "lidds"

F.A. CUP VERSUS WELTON ROVERS

THE BIG ONE !!
Here we go! First time for us in the F.A.Cup. Taking on unknown quality from another league. But that goes both ways. Let us hope on the day we can rise to the occasion for the win. We are hoping for a good crowd, nice weather forcast and that other team in Town ? no game for them. Food and drink all available at the ground. All that and hopefully some good football.  See you there !!

DODWALLS FRIENDLY

1ST HALF PRESSURE ??
Well! Well! What is there to be said. I thought maybe we ran out with the insight, by half-time we will be three up! How wrong we were. Our attitude was not up for the game. But the Dobwalls outfit were up for it to play well against a higher division side. They in a slightly robust fashion did just that. Being more eager for the ball we cannot take away the given result for them. We were unfortunate to pick up a couple of yellow cards. But we all know the reason for that. Anyway, a bonus no injuries to cater for. Let us also remember we are still without our regular keeper. "Pipes" is slowly getting it sorted. But a word for young "Wiggy" in his absence, who played well in goal for us. Stay tuned

HIGHLIGHT OF THE GAME !!
One good moment for us when we took the lead. A lovely taken chip over the keepers head by Marc Berry. But then the highlights came to an end ??.

Ryan, playing against some of his past team mates, is slightly lacked in height jumping for this one.

WARREN DAW
Brings the ball away. I think he will be an asset to the squad once we get settled. Forget this game, so we can knuckle down for the big one on Saturday. The F.A. Cup against Welton Rovers. 3PM KICK OFF  See you there ??
