THROGMORTON CUP

AS EXPECTED AT "WESTON MILL"  !!
The image shows the start of the onslaught when "Willy" sends the keeper the wrong way from the spot. It was pretty much as expected for us to overcome this encounter. Having been well acquainted with the players of last season at "Parkway". Taking the lead all be it from the spot from "Willy". They got level soon after and play was then scrappy. However, two more goals from "Danny Lewis" before the break some how predicted the path for the result.
Second half we were well in control. It saw "Levi Lanricombe" block a clearance by the keeper. The ball ran kindly for "Danny Lewis" to return the ball, gracefully floated over the keeper and into the net for his hat-trick. Soon after "Levi" found the net along with "Ryan Richards". To complete the score sheet for the day, we saw "Willy" come up and head home from a corner for his second goal. It was a good tempered game and a good crowd saw some Sunshine and 8 goals. What more could you ask for ??

"DANNY'S 2ND GOAL
Already on the score-sheet with a good header, he targeted again when he closely walked around the keeper and slid the ball past the defender on the line.

AN OLD ENEMY !!
We knew we would be up against another ex-Parkway defender by way of "Fossie". In my book he is a player that always gives his best. !Here we see him in battle with "Ryan Richards".

NEAR MISS !!
One of our options from the bench saw "Adam Carter" to give the "Vospers" defence more to think of. But this he miss-cued his effort to find the target.

HOME KEEPER
Although at the end of the game he was beaten 7 times. But we remember "Ian Evans" for his days at "Parkway". During the game he brought off some fine saves to keep the scoreline as it was.

ANOTHER GOOD SAVE !!

THROGMORTON CUP

MAN OF THE MATCH
After the game many players approached me in a jesting manner looking for the award, but that is good banter we have within our club. However, when so players play well in a 7-1 victory it comes difficult. But the hat-trick was the final vote for "Danny Lewis".
Next game away to St Austell Sat Nov 30th

F.A.VASE

WE SEND "WANTAGE"  PACKING  ??
The image as normal shows the club Penant being presented. Team captain "Will Stringer"doing the honours along with the help of team member son young snapper "Bailey", center stage !. Well what a result ! We were brilliant. Who said us "Westcountry Turnips" can't play football ?? Play was a little hot tempered, but this was as expected. We took the lead after 30 mins from a "Paul Heveran" header. A good crowd saw this up until the break. But second half we were the better side. Helped along with the defence  who were well in charge , not forgetting "Ben" in the custodial shirt who played brilliant. A further goal from "Levi Landricombe" eased some pressure coming from them. The result was then sealed when "Ryan Richards" raced away on a loose ball. He was upended by the keeper, but rather wait for the penalty shout !! he chose to go on and score. It was a splendid performance from the squad, having to take on unknown quality for the game. Who we got next ? BRING EM ON !!!                                                           "lidds"

EARLY PRESSURE !
We started well, and gave their defenders some anxious moments ??

CONSTANT THREAT ??
"Levi Landricombe", his quickness on the ball during the game gave the "Wantage Town" defenders plenty to think about !!.

"HEVERS" GIVES US THE LEAD !!
Just on the 30 min marker we took the lead. From the left flank it was "Luke Rundle". His cross to the far post found "Paul Heveran" who out jumped his defenders and headed a great goal. They don't come often ? but when they do, their good !!

"BEN" PUNCHES CLEAR !
All through the 90 mins of play, the visitors front runners found the home keeper "Ben Elphick" to be in fine form. He was the stumbling block for their negative scoreline !!.

MAN OF THE MATCH !
After the 90min whistle, my task for the club award decision was well backed up when the "Parkway keeper Ben Elphlick" took the honours.    Stay tuned  "lidds"

BODMIN AT HOME

HERE WE GO ! THE BIG ONE ??
The elements were kind, so a bumper crowd were there to see the clash of the current two best teams in the league. Play was fast as expected and of high spirits !. A few yellow cards kept the "ref" on his toes. However, we saw the break on level pegs, but second half I thought we had the Cornish side on the back foot. It bugs me to say this but, the custodial person for them was our main stumbling block ?.He brought off some fine saves to keep us at bay. An overdue option from the bench was "Levi Landricombe". He gave us some strength up front. His full volley shot was well struck, but alas, straight at the keeper to save. "Ryan Richards" just lacked that little bit of luck for his chances. Then in the dying moments of the game they pinched the result. It was ironic that "Chrissie Wright" who was a firm favourite at "Parkway", both as a player and a club member, should get the goal. His shot shot hit the underside of the bar but still went in !!. It was a cruel blow for us ?? The final whistle saw them leave with a lucky win ???                  "lidds"

JUST OVER !!
Central defender "Gavin Coulton" came up for the corner. But his header on goal was too strong, and it went over the bar.  "lidds"
