F.A.VASE BOVEY TRACEY AT HOME

"HOBBO" PUT'S A DENT IN "BOVEY'S" VASE ??
A single strike was all it took , to settle the tie. A small crowd saw an entertaining game. But I can't see from the paper report, that we were the weaker side. It was the skin of their teeth, that we did not register goals to our credit it the first half. But then, we all see the game different. How come the missed penalty by them was not mentioned !!. (IMAGE) Second half we claimed the game when "Hobbo" hit one of his specials. The keeper parried the ball but it found the net. That will see us now with an away tie against "Ilfracombe".

INCHES AWAY ??
You can tell by the anguished look on "Wrighty's" face, how close he was to make contact from a cross by "Hobbo".

F.A.VASE BOVEY TRACEY AT HOME

SOLID IN DEFENCE
I for one was glad to see "Dann Evans" back in the starting line-up. Sure footed with both feet, also strong in the air. Not a defender easily beaten ?.

QUIET GAME ! NEVER !!
In spite of a paper report thay "Hobbo" had a poor game ? What game did they see ? Every time he touched the ball, he was swamped with defenders. Yet he still managed to get some good shots on target. Not forgetting his blaster early in the second half. Ex- Parkway keeper "Tom Buckler" got a touch, but the strength of the shot carried the ball over the line. This proved to be our winner, and in my book, club "Man of the Match" award for "Hobbo". Next battle Saturday at home to St Austell. (revenge is sweet ??)

DRESSING ROOMS

LOOKING GOOD !!
This is the latest image of the project at "Bolitho Park". Main contractor "Gary Doel" reports all is on target. The main building finished, so now the interior work is next to be completed. We will soon be well and truly "on the map" ??

BOVEY TRACEY AWAY

BOVEY TRACY IN THE RAIN !!

All the game it bleeding "P----d down ?? But it did not alter the end result for us. Ben Joyce put his name on 2 goals. With Dennis Mason added the third. Their single goal was from a corner, helped along with a deflection. They were a young side and had to be monitored for the whole 90mins of play. But "Sam Chitty" was masterful in the air, well backed up by keeper "Martin Piper"with his safe handling.Under the wet conditions I thought the lads done well, and deserved the win. We do it again on Saturday, but in the league ?? "lidds"

BOVEY TRACEY AWAY

SAFE HANDLING FROM "PIPER"
It must have been a keepers nightmare with the slippery conditions on the night. But "Martin" never made a single error !. Not forgetting the brilliant save in the second half that was a great effort and looked a certain goal for them.

BOVEY TRACEY AWAY

BEN JOYCE

Had a lively game in the rain !! It must be said he had a lucky double bounce of the ball. It ran kindly for him to strike with a low shot to give us the lead on 25 mins. He was on target again in the second half, with a through ball to slot away his second goal in the rain.

NEW FIRE POWER !!
Since the showing of "Dennis Mason" in the squad, we have added a tower of strength in our frontline. He gave us the needed second goal after 33 mins with a low shot .

BOVEY TRACEY AWAY

A CRUTIAL BLOW FOR US ??

With the game at a difficult time, we lost the sevices Shane Krac with injury. Anyway, all was well. Next game Sat 24th Sept at home to Bovey Tracy again in the F.A. Vase cup.

PENZANCE AWAY

THE "MAGPIES" PUT TO ROOST ??
The game was evenly situated for the first half at "Penlee Park". But it was all changed when options were played off the bench in the second half. "Ben Joyce and Dennis Mason" came on and gave us the extra fire power that was needed. The added enforcement saw us from a corner "Sam Chitty" headed the goal. He then late in the game repeated the same move for our second goal. It was a clever move by the Managers to use the options from the bench to secure the away win. A big thank you to the dedicated few who made the long trip down into the depts of Cornwall to give support to the club. Well done !

PENZANCE AWAY

CHRIS WRIGHT

Just narrowly missed a chance to give us an early lead.

"lidds"

PENZANCE AWAY

THE HOME KEEPER
The home keeper "Danny Burrows" was forced to make some brave saves to keep us from breaking the dead -lock.

PENZANCE AWAY

WE TAKE THE LEAD !!
This was the moment we were challenging for. A pin-point corner sent across by "Shane Krac" was met with a full bodied header that crashed the back of the net by "Sam Chitty". He repeated the same move again for his second goal late in the game to secure the points. Also he put his name on the club Man of the Match award.

PENZANCE AWAY

AT LAST !!
We had to wait 25 mins into the second half to see the breakthrough. So the brilliant header off the corner by "Chitty" was well celebrated by his team mates.

HEAVILY MARKED ??

"Hobbo" found himself closely shadowed during the 90 mins. Here he went close on a 50-50 with the home keeper.

PENZANCE AWAY

NEW BLOOD !

With the game even stevens at this point, "Dennis Mason", who is now eligible to play after serving his suspension, came off the bench. He with the help of the other option, "Ben Joyce" completely changed the game for us. They together gave us the extra challenge we needed . It was a clever move on the managers part, to give us the away win, and much needed 3 points. Next Game Tues 20th Sept Bovey Tracy away.

CHARD AWAY F.A. VASE

"THE ROBINS ARE SHOT DOWN !!"
This was the start of a slaughter for the home side. "Hobbo" pulled the ball back from the bye-line for "Lee Doel" to strike the first of his two goals. We were far too good for the "Chard outfit" in all positions. It was all there to see , with "Hobbo" getting a hat-trick to give us a 4-0 lead on the break. Further goals in the second half, from Lee Doel, Danny Brooks, Sam Chitty, Chris Wright 2, and would you believe " two more from "Hobbo". That was a grand total of eleven. I predicted a win , but not to that degree. You never know what quality you face with teams from a different league. But that goes both ways. Also with the game well in our control, an option from the bench was the son of our joint manager Wayne Hillson. Just turned 16 young Sam was into the senior football. He did o'k, and will be pressing to play regular ? who knows !! I must mention the hospitality we received was top class. We wish them well in their league encounters for the season.

CHARD AWAY F.A. VASE

THIS IS GOAL NUMBER ELEVEN !!

They must have thought our "Hobbo" was from another Planet ?. The afternoon certainly belonged to him. Here he is about to register his fifth goal and bring our total tally on full time 11 nil. I would be bold enough to say, "Hobbo" has set a record for the highest goals scored in one game,by one player, in the Vase Cup . ?? (prove me wrong ??) Plus, all his goals were brilliant !!. Next game Penzance away Sat 17th.

IVYBRIDGE TOWN AT HOME

BRIDGERS GRAB A POINT !!

PARKWAY 1 IVYBRIDGE 1 I cannot believe having so much dominance in a game, pounding the goal from all angles, that we end up sharing the points. It must be said that our goal was scruffy to say the least. But we must have hit the crossbar about 6 times during the game. The young "Bridgers " side defended well, but then they ruddy had to !!.

The general patter from the meagre crowd, gave Man of the Match to the Ivybridge keeper. Well he would be, with all the pounding he had to face. We were by far the stronger side, but failed to clinch the winner. Anyway it was a good clean game for one of our local Derby matches.

DANN EVANS
Once again put in a brilliant performance. His skill on the ball , and his forward runs makes us realise what a great signing he was.
"lidds"

IVYBRIDGE TOWN AT HOME

SAM CHITTY
Proving to be an asset in our defence regarding height in heading clear. He came up for the corner, and got the final touch to force the ball over. It was his first goal for the club, it was untidy , but they all count ?.

CHRIS WRIGHT
Was one of the options from the bench. He came on 15mins from time, and was presented with a golden chance to seal the game. But his shot was not good, and it soared over the bar !! Next game Sat 10th Sept away to Chard in the Cup.

ST AUSTELL AWAY

"LICKED BY THE LILLYWHITES " ??

The image shows new signing "Martin Piper" from "Torpoint". But the game I will say a little. It seems the stigma ! of never playing well at "Poltair Park" still prevails. We had a good start when "Hobbo" after 5mins found the net. This saw the break, after which they levelled with a good strike. From 35 yds the ball cleared the keeper and dipped under the crossbar. They were now back in the game. The rain now was prominent, and they registered two more chances. Nothing great, but never the less at this moment , they were top dogs. The final nail in the coffin for us, "Lee Doel" missed his tackle in the box, the spot kick registered the end of the day for us. O'k, not to worry, we will bounce back. Starting from Ivybridge at home on Tuesday, ???

NEW KEEPER FOR PARKWAY !!
With the absence of our regular custodial position ?? for reasons I feel not to say ? we have obtained the services of "Martin Piper" signed from "Torpoint". I have to say the result was no reflection on his performance. He will fill the vacant spot with no question.

Early in the first half, "Lee Bevan" had to slide in to prevent the ball being crossed.

PARKWAY SQUAD 2011-2012
It has been brought to my attention that the current squad photo has not been shown on the webb. So here we are in the sunshine. But I must add , there has been a few changes since I done this shoot !!. Next game Tues 6th Ivybridge at home. So, let us forget the past episode, and get back to winning ways !!. I'm sure we will ??
