SQUAD UPDATE

The heavens were kind to us at "Bolitho Park" for our pre-season friendly with F.A.Vase winners Truro City. A great crowd attended to see the game. Although we went in on the break, three down, we were still in the game. It must be said their pace was quicker, and from two free kicks, they got the last touch to score. Their 3rd goal , again a free kick, was well placed in the top corner of the net. After the break we defended better with"Paul Edwards, Woody, Stuart Berry and Robbie Powell" all kept busy. But we held them at bay, and then we replied when Mark Berry broke loose. He finished a fine effort lobbing the keeper for his first goal for the club. The game was played in a sporty fashion, and I'm sure it was enjoyed by both sides. We wish the visitors all the best in their new challenge for the season. As we also face unknown territory ??

PHOTO-SHOOT AT PARKWAY

One of the TEAMS at the Y.M.C.A.KITTO- PARKWAY Photo-shoot were the under 13 ladies side, looking all smart in the new strip.

PHOTO-SHOOT AT BOLITHO PARK

As you can see the photo-shoot at Bolitho Park was a huge event to be held, with the number of people involved. But all credit to Parkway chairman "Mark Rowles" who managed to do a brilliant job on the night. We proudly breasted the new strip for the season. It was all part of the sponsorship deal with Gary Doel of G.D. and son Builders.

PORTHLEVEN FRIENDLY

MAN OF THE MATCH

DANNY BROOKS

For his clever touches in mid-field, he masterminded many a move during the 90mins. The icing on the cake came, in the 80th min, when he picked his spot and floated the ball over the keepers head, for what proved to be our winner. (brilliant)

PORTHLEVEN FRIENDLY

PARKWAY 2 PORTHLEVEN 1
We must thank our visitors for making the long journey up for the pre-season friendly. Although we only managed a small crowd, they saw plenty of action at both ends. Once again the new faces fitted in well. So both managers must have been well pleased. There was some brilliant shots on target , with more than one hitting the cross-bar with the keeper well beat. So that leaves us now with the visit of F.A. Fase winners Truro City coming to us on Friday 27th with a 7.45pm k-o.

MAIDENHEAD UTD

Bolitho Park was blessed by the heavens, and a good crowd enjoyed the sunshine. Our visitors "Maidenhead Utd" who hail from the Blue Square Sth. Here you see our president "Jim Parsons" presenting the penant to mark the day. We ran out 2-1 winners , so that was a bonus for us . Regarding on merit, they are three leagues above us. But the game was a good run-out with the influx of the new faces. They all done their bit, so the joint managers must have been well pleased. Andy Barnes in goal, had a brilliant game, and kept us flagship for most of the 90mins. "Mark Berry"showed class, but he never had the open chance to make his mark on the game. So I'm thinking now , the new signings will make us a team to beat in the new league. At the end of the day, it was a good start to the new challenge that awaits us. I'm sure we will do well ??
Scroll down for more on the game.

MAIDENHEAD UTD

Martin Sullivan, seen here , had a great game. He turned his marker inside out ?. He must have gone home on the coach "dizzy". He finalised the day on the edge of the box, when he picked his spot and floated the ball in the corner of the net for our second goal. (lidds)

MAIDENHEAD UTD

As you can see ,we kept the visiting keeper busy for most of the game. (LiDDS)

MAN OF THE MATCH
ANDY BARNES
Our keeper kept us in the game with some fine saves. Late in the game he had to face a penalty. Picking the right side he just failed to save.

PARKWAY UPDATE

SPONSORSHIP FOR THE NEW SEASON
Plymouth Parkway were more than glad when Gary Doel, owner of "G.D.Building and Roofing" is to be our main sponsor for the new season. President Jim Parsons and chairman Mark Rowles know what a bonus we have in Gary. Not only having his son "Lee" in our regular squad ,and having a fantastic season with us.
But himself, was a prominent player in the Sth West Lge, with many clubs in the higher bracket. The Doel family have managed to keep the level of skill to the limit. As I can remember in my playing days, playing against his dad "Harold Doel". So we are pleased to welcome on board Gary, to help us through the new challenge and the ambitious plans ahead for the club. Stay tuned "Lidds"
