PARKWAY DIV 1 CHAMPIONS

"THE PARKWAY SQUAD"
After a more than convincing win over St Stevens, the squad lines up as league champions. A 2 -0 win was recorded, but it would have been more, but for the fact the visiting keeper put up a brave show. This now recalls the end of a great season for the Parkway seconds. Having been cup finalist also in the Supplementary Cup. One or two players now will be looking to progress to first team admission ?? Who knows !!

SUPPLIMENTARY CUP FINAL

"GOOD NEWS AND BAD NEWS ??"
Bad news first, that the Parkway seconds just failed to make it the double. Already league champions, but found on the night they had to settle for the defeat. First half neither side dominated play. But in the second half Saltash stepped up a gear. The slightly older and more experienced side began to tell. The first goal a first time touch off the corner scrapped in by the near post. The second, a cruel deflection that gave Parkway keeper !Ian Evans"no chance to change direction to save. But no bones on their third goal. A free kick to the far post was met with a clear cut header to seal the game. Richard Eland did reply, but too late to alter the reflection on the result. Now the good news. Through the pigeon post during the game, we hear that we have got runners up spot having that Saltash only got level pegs with Ivybridge.
Great news !!
Stay tuned "lidds"

CUP FINAL

"GOOD SAVES"
It was just our luck that ex-Parkway keeper in the past, "Andy Barnes", showed a safe pair of hands during the 90mins. This is the last entry now for the webb of this season. So now you can go shopping with her -indoors ! (now there's a thought)

BODMIN AT HOME

"SECRETARY TO SECRETARY"
We show all credit to the visitors "Bodmin Town" for being champions for the present season 2008-2009. Here our secretary "Duncan Hedges" does the honours.
Note !! I took this photo before the final result ?? But on the night we were worthy winners. If chances were took, it could have been six !!. This will be the final webb for the first team fixtures. But stay tuned for the second team in the final on May 7th at the Mill, against Saltash. Great season !! stay tuned !!

BODMIN AT HOME

"MATTY HAWKE"
Central defender, had to contend to the likes of a ex-pro, and the danger of ex-Parkway player Mark Berry. Who in the 90mins of play was our only threat on the night. But he coped with flying colours.

"ROSS SAINT"
Done well to work the ball in from the left flank. His low delivery got the last touch from the visitors for a own goal, and more to the point our winner !!

TOP GOAL SCORER PENINSULA LEAGUE
Having heard the latest score-lines, I am being bold as to say that "Chris Wright"is now the top man for goals in the Sth West Peninsula League. This is no mean commitment, as he has not played for the last Month because of injury. I would say , baring his injury , he would have set a target that would have hard to match ??.
