LAUNCESTON AT HOME

"WE COME UNSTUCK !!"
The image shows "Ben" in the Parkway goal , getting an early touch. But this was not a day not to dwell on. It was a poor crowd, but we must thank the loyal fans who braved the artic conditions. It sure was very cold (for want of a stronger word ?) On the day we saw plenty of the ball, but failed to score. On the break we were level, with a well taken goal from Ryan Richards. Second half we pushed forward, but left it open for the breakaway . Three more goals was the result, with young "Ryan" replying with his second goal. But for us it was game over. We will have to bounce back with a vengeance, if we are to overcome them from Cornwall ??. on Saturday.

ON TARGET TWICE
After the disappointing result, I was hard pressed for the club Man of the Match. But for his two goals, young "Ryan Richards" was a whisker away.

A BIG THANK YOU !!
Prior to our fixture against Launceston, there was a small token of thanks being presented to former Chairman of the Peninsula league, namely "Bob Bell". He has been a great help to club Secretary "Stuart Cadmore", in matters relating to the club. However, unforeseen circumstances, he will no longer be able to fill that roll. Club Secretary "Stuart Cadmore", does the honours and to say all at Parkway wish him well.

ST LUKES BOWL HOME

"PREDICTED RESULT"
This fixture went as expected. But they had to include quality players to get the result. Up against the so-called "Pros", we gave a good account of ourselves. No way we were the team from the local league. With a little of luck we could have found the net on chances. Not forgetting the two penalty shouts , that was wavered ??. Mark Reckless got our single goal , but that put us back in the game. However, I thought fitness told in the end, and the third goal put the game in their favour. Ex -Parkway manager Dave Leonard saw his son "Ryan" play an important role in the result. Also our current chairman "Mark Young", had to bare the sight of his "sibling", "Luke", put the final touch of defeat to his pride of joy at "Parkway". But we can hold our head high with respect. We gave them a good game. It was no walkover. As a passing comment, I would like to thank "Luke Young", for coming in the club after, for the formal chatter about the game. He was the only one that entered the club. Tell the rest, their not in the "Premier league yet " ???.

F.A.VASE CUP

MELTDOWN FOR MELKSHAM TOWN !!
As always we mark the day at "Bolitho Park" with the visiting captain. It turned out to be a more than convincing win for us against the unknown quality of "Melksham Town". A good crowd had their moneys worth with 7 goals, open play and 2 yellow cards. Both managers (Gez and Wayner) must have been well pleased with the way the squad performed. The first 10mins I thought we were in for a real battle. But after the first goal we were well in control. But it must be said, they did reply soon after with a good header from a free kick that went unchallenged. But our defence was solid leaving "Ben" in goal well protected. Young Ryan Richards put his name on two goals. Chris Wright put away a hat-trick, and "Bradley Yeo" (lakeside) drafted in to cover for injuries, came off the bench to score a great goal on his debut for the club. That gave us the grand tally of six. In the club after the beer tasted that much better. We look forward now to the next round. (BRING IT ON ??)

This was the first opening for us to take the lead. But "Hobo"who is not known to miss one on one with keepers, miss-cued and shot wide.

Considering the score-line, I had plenty of names in the frame for the club award. But my choice (but not for all) the hat-trick gave him the edge !! Chrissie Wright.

ST BLAZEY AWAY

WE RECORD A WIN AT "BLAISE PARK"
This is the first time we have won at "Blaise Park", so we were more than pleased with the result. I thought we were the stronger side, and had best of the possession. But then I would , wouldn't I. Chris Wright got the score-line started when he touched in from a Lee Doel cross. He was again on target from close in , this time "Brooksie" supplying the chance. Second half "Hobo"got the third goal with a great strike. They got one back when we failed to clear. John Heveran then from a corner got the fourth goal. The man in black then took over and awarded two dubious penalty shouts. They were both converted. We were slightly below strength for this fixture, having Ben Elphlick missing for suspension. So this key position was filled by Matt England. (image) He played well and encouraged the line of defence for the whole 90mins. His dead ball kicking was strong and so was the safe handling of the ball. To sum up ! three points and STILL top of the league.

PENALTY NO 2
Stand-in keeper "Matty England" had to face two penalties in the second half. Both penalty shouts were very dubious for me. But when the "Ref" is a close neighbour from just down the road, what do you expect ????.

Glynn Hobbs again got on the score-sheet, when he made space on the right flank. He found the net with a strong shot at an acute angle for the third goal.

THE "DUGOUTS"
Both the team's benches , look on anxiously as late in the game , the second penalty is slotted away. But we still record the first ever win for us at "Blaise Park". Next game home to Melksham Town in the F.A. Vase. Sat Nov 13th. Stay tuned "lidds"
