HOLSWORTHY AWAY

WE MASTER THE "MAGPIES"
The grim scene at "Upcott Field" continues when we inflict yet another heavy defeat on them. "Johnny Haveran" (pic) gave us a dream start after only 5mins. But then the style of play somewhat left us. We went in on the break on level pegs. Not forgetting this was the only goal the home side has scored this season. But after some strong words obviously coming from the manager "Dave Leonard", things were different in the second period. We completely controlled the the game. Taking the lead with a goal from "Chris Wright" and shortly after "Ross Saint" added to the tally. "John Haveran" then struck his second from a corner. Everyone knew by now what way the game was going. A further goal from "Chris Wright and Ross Saint" made the total of six. It was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by all. I trust we all had a safe journey home. Scroll down and see some action.

WADEBRIDGE AWAY

"IT WAS A BRIDGE TOO
FAR FOR THE "BRIDGERS"
The manager changed the line-up for
our away fixture at Wadebridge Town
to rectify the defeat in mid-week.
His experience paid off, when we coasted through the 90mins to the tune of 5 nil.
It was good to meet up again with an old
member of the Parkway family "Stuart Dudley". Who is currently in charge of the young "Bridgers" side. We took the lead after 23mins, with good work from !Lee Doel". He paved the way for "Chris Wright" who made space, and picked his spot shooting wide of the home keeper. He went on to make his tally on four. (1 pen) and put his name on the "Man of the Match".
"Ross Saint" popped up for a second ball, and converted the chance for our fifth goal.
It was a good all round performance, and puts us back in winning form again.

TORPOINT HOME

EARLY PRESSURE FOR THEM !!
We are saying "It's early days yet", but how long are we to say that ?. Three games gone ,and only three points in the bag. We were desperate to gain a win against our rivals from across the "Tamar". But it was not to be. On the break, going in flagship by a slender goal. Soon after they were back level, following a mix-up in the defence. Chances fell for us, but the final touch was missing. Especially when you have a one on one with the keeper, but fail to score. Then in the dying moments, they pounced on a second ball to steal the points. At the final whistle, with the visiting celebrations, you would have thought they had won a "gold medal" ??.

CULLOMPTON AWAY

"SPOT THE BALL ??"
Our away fixture at "Speeds Meadow", was a game of two halfs. The first, belonged to us taking the early lead. But chances were there for further goals. But time and time again the final strike was over the bar. On the break they were level , when a low shot took a cruel deflection, sending our keeper off balance. I thought they were there for the taking. But second half the home side somewhat stepped up the pressure. We found ourselves on the back foot for long periods. They took the lead shortly after the start, with it must be said a great header. They then sealed the game with a free kick. The ball was floated over from the side-lines, and it drifted over a mellee of players, and found the back of the net. Play was tricky under the wet conditions, but that goes for both sides. Never mind , it's early days yet !! On a final note, the hospitality shown to us was brilliant.

FALMOUTH TOWN AWAY

IT WAS A GOOD START !!
Parkway manager "Dave Leonard", guided us through for a fine away win to start the season. It was a rain-lashed Bickland Park, but the football was good. Player manager for the home side, "Andy Bowker" had no answer to our quick movement on the ball. We put our stamp on the game after 15mins. Coming up for the corner, skipper "Mat Hawke", pictured, (man of the match) got the last touch to head us into the lead. After that, we were well in charge of the game. Parkway keeper "Simon Zinn", handled easily, anything that came his way. It was a good all round performance under heavy conditions. On the 90min whistle, we clocked up six goals. Late in the game, Falmouth had a gifted goal from the spot, for an infringement in the box. Scroll down to see the score-sheet.

TRURO CITY

THE SQUAD 2008 - 2009

Truro manager "Robin Watt" brought along a young side to "Bolitho Park". With the elements not in our favour, the hardened crowd that attended were rewarded with a good display of football. On the night we were far the better side and ran out 3-1 winners. But the score-line not important, but the friendly way the game was played. Chris Wright gave us the lead, from the spot. Truro got level in the same fashion. Second half, late in the game he struck again for his second goal. Just before the final whistle "Phil Daniels" made the score-line complete.

"PRESENTATION"
We marked the day with Parkway manager "Dave Leonard" and Okehampton secretary "Charlie Bond". Both games were enjoyed by all. With the score-line not important, the day was a great success. Good football came from both games, and played in a friendly manner , that is a credit to our game. Im sure all at "Parkway" wish all the best for "Okehampton", in their coming season.
