GOOD FRIDAY ELBURTON VILLA AWAY

THE CLUB LOGO
As always we mark the day with the presentation between the club captains. It was a fine morning and a good crowd. They saw 6 goals, one penalty, but NO yellow cards. That shows the spirit between the two sides. We took the lead by Andy Sargent, they got level with a scrappy goal. Then went ahead after an infringement in the box. But it was to be short lived. Chris Wright then done the honours heading us back level with a brilliant power header from a corner. "Shane Kracc", again with a header gave us the lead . Before the break "Sargie" hit a full volley which carried some strength. It was too much for the keeper to hold and found the net. As it was all the goals were to be registered in the first half. The second period we were well in charge but failed to increase our score-line. All thanks to our stand-in keeper "Phil Knight". He handled on the day all that came his way. Ian Evans is side-lined with injury as well as first team keeper "Ben Elphick". So with that in mind the win was important to us. As a closing thought, we all at Parkway hope that "Villa" can find them vital points so as to avoid the relegation threat that hangs over them.

WE TAKE THE LEAD
"Andy Sargent" was put through with them shouting for the off-side. He calmly slotted the ball with a low shot ,past the sprawling home keeper to give us the lead after 6mins .

WRIGHTY STRIKES !!
From a made to measure corner from "Jumbo Alexandra", Chrissie Wright" met it with a power header to get us back level after 25 mins with the score at 2-2.

ELBURTON AWAY

THE FOURTH GOAL
"Andy Sargent" let's fly with a full volley. The shot was too strong for the keeper to hold, it registered his second goal and the end of the day for them ??.

ELBURTON AWAY

SHANE KRACC
Another fine display coming from "Kraccie". He kept our mid-field buzzing for the 90mins. Also put us back flagship with a fine header from a corner.

ELBURTON AWAY

"HOBBO" WAS CLOSELY MONITERED !!

Every time he had possession he was surrounded by the home defence. They blotted out any clear chances to score.

GOOD FRIDAY ELBURTON VILLA AWAY

MAN OF THE MATCH
In the second half our defence were well in charge for any attack. It was good to see the way they passed the ball to get out of trouble. So it was my controversial decision to award the club award to central defender "Marc Bonney" for another solid performance. Next game , the big one !! Buckland at home. Sat 30th April.

WITHERIDGE TOWN AWAY

TRUSTY SUPPORTERS !! We must give credit to the valued band of supporters who made the 153 mile round trip to give the team support. As seen in the "Main Stand", Charlie, Alan and Grayham. Also in attendance Mr and Mrs Heveran, Richard and daughter. The game went as predicted with us the stronger side. The home support was less than we are used to , but still the hospitality was top class. We wish them well for the remainder of the season. "lidds"

WITHERIDGE TOWN AWAY

ONE NIL UP !!
After 10mins of play we strike. A ball fed in from the bye -line was met with a strong diving header that cannoned into the net by "Shane Kracc". Seen here in the middle of the image. (brilliant).

WITHERIDGE TOWN AWAY

"HANDBALL" ?? "Kraccie" goes mad for the appeal for hand ball ?? (not given). "lidds"

WITHERIDGE TOWN AWAY

IT WAS CLOSE !! Andy Sargent was unlucky with this header by the near post. But he later went sniffing in the 67 min to tap in a ball fed in by John Heveran for our third goal. "lidds"

WITHERIDGE TOWN AWAY

WE HIT THE BAR ??

Options used off the bench saw "Glynn Hobbs" back from suspension to join the attack. Within minutes we went close with the cross bar saving them .

WITHERIDGE TOWN AWAY

COMMITMENT !! "Kraccie" was everywhere ?? "lidds"

WITHERIDGE TOWN AWAY

MAN OF THE MATCH
Once again he claims the club award. His commitment in the 90mins is what every team needs. Giving us the lead with a strong diving header amongst a melee of players after 10mins. Then in the second period, he struck a thunderbolt from 20yds to restore our lead. Without doubt "top man" on the day. Next game Good Friday Elburton Villa away with a 11.00am k.o.

BOVEY TRACY HOME

SPARCY CROWD ???

Did that other team that was playing at home grab all our supporters ?? It was a glorious afternoon, but we suffered a meagre crowd .

"lidds"

BOVEY TRACY HOME

JUST WIDE !!

Surrounded by defenders "Sargie" saw this effort just off target.

"lidds"

BOVEY TRACY HOME

BACK FROM INJURY We were more than glad to see the return of cental defender "John Heveran". "lidds"

BOVEY TRACY HOME

HEAVILY SHADOWED !!
All through the 90mins our "Chrissie Wright" was surrounded by the visiting

defenders. But just when I commented on the brilliant dead ball kicking of the "Bovey" keeper "Tom Blackler", he boobed !!. The ball ran nicely for "Wrighty" to return the ball with a low shot into the open net for our third goal.

BOVEY TRACY HOME

BATTLING BONNEY !!

He might not be a giant in stature, but our "Marc Bonney" will give any keeper something to handle ??.

"lidds"

BOVEY TRACY HOME

2 STRIKES FOR SARGIE !!

It was late in the first half before we put our stamp on this fixture. A poorly taken corner by Lee Coxan, saw the ball on the near post. But "Andy Sargent" was there sniffing and got the last touch to guide the ball home to give us the lead. He was on target again early after the break. This time a well taken goal when he lobbed the keeper with a first time shot over the keepers head. He then went close on getting the hat-trick bar a good save by the visiting keeper, ex Parkway "Tom Blackler". Voted club Man of the Match

TORPOINT AWAY

MINUTE SILENCE

THE TEAMS SHOW RESPECT

Before the game commenced a minute silence was taken in memory of "Marion Toms". She was a valued committee member of the "Torpoint F.C.club". Having died this week after a short illness. It turned out to be a night not to be remembered. We went a goal down in the first half, but we never looked like the side we are. No bad eggs, for excuse, but we were key players missing. No "Hobbo" (suspended) no "Hohn Heveran" injury. "Brooksie" left out (game fatigue) Lee Doel working away. So we were a depleated side to be fair. A further goal in the second half for them, although we had most of the play, but could not score. Both their goals were spawney, but they all count ??

"lidds"

TORPOINT AWAY

LEE RUNDLE
We had to call upon for the second time this season to fill the central defender spot , owing to the niggling injury to "John Heveran".

"lidds"

TORPOINT AWAY

NEW FACE IN THE SQUAD With injuries and suspensions that every team must bare, "Bradley Yeo" who is no stranger at playing at the "Mill", came on when we lost the services of the keeper. "lidds"

TORPOINT AWAY

LEE BEVAN Was ordered to the bench in the second half after he picked up a yellow card for a clumsy tackle. It was done so as to avoid any more suspensions with important games coming . "lidds"

TORPOINT AWAY

WE BATTLE FOR THE EQUALIZER !!
Andy Sargent and Chris Wright go looking for the chance to get us back on level terms in the first half. But alas, it never came ??

"lidds"

TORPOINT AWAY

HE WILL PLAY ANYWHERE ??

Young "Marc Bonney" had a busy night at the "Mill". Here we see him up in the attack trying to get the touch on goal from a corner. Second half he took over the "keepers jersey" after "Ben" sustained an injury to his knee.

"lidds"

TORPOINT AWAY

BAD NEWS FOR US !!
Not only did we suffer the defeat at the "Mill", but also our keeper "Ben Elphick" was carried off injured late in the second half. It is more serious than we hoped, so we now have to wait to see if he will be fit again for the crucial games upon us including the cup final ??. Fingers crossed !!. Next game home to "Bovey Tracy" Sat 9th Apr.

THROGMORTON CUP SEMI FINAL

BRILLIANT RESULT

Although not at the game due a holiday break booked by her indoors way back in January. But my spies tell me we were worthy winners on the night. Glynn Hobbs and 2 from Chris Wright done the damage. A good crowd saw us now enter the final I would think as favourites. I know football is a funny game, but having beaten our opponents (St Blazey)home and away in the league, we must hold our heads high ??. Also good for our joint managers "Gez and Wayner" something to show for their hard work in the season. The venue for the final is at Newquay, with the date to be posted later.

THROGMORTON CUP SEMI FINAL

2 GOALS FOR "WRIGHTY" Giving us the lead after 42mins was "Chrissie Wright". Late in the game he was put through by "Brooksie" to register his second goal, and our third goal for entry into the final. "lidds"

THROGMORTON CUP SEMI FINAL

SECOND GOAL You cannot keep him down. "Hobbo" found the target for our second goal, after 68mins. I'm told one of his pile-drivers from 30 yds . "lidds"

THROGMORTON CUP SEMI FINAL

DANNY BROOK

In any important fixture, "Brooksie" name will be there. My spies at the game tells me he laid on two chances that registered for goals.
