DARTMOUTH HOME

THE "DARTS" ARE HIT BY 3 "BULLS EYES"
Three clear goals was enough to claim the
points from the visitors from the South Hams.
But I thought they played some good football.
They lacked the final finish in front of goal.
A small crowd in attendance by the fact that a
programme on Tele, (Emmerdale) ?? was on.
But the game was good, We were somewhat
below strength, with key players missing, but the squad on duty done us proud. Not a night for one player to remember (Will Stringer) He
was yellowed carded, and then carted off to Hospital with a knee injury. That's football !!

FROM THE SPOT !!
After "Brooksie" was tripped in the box, it was left for "Andy" to step up and give us a 18mins lead from the spot. He did just that !!

"KEPT US IN THE GAME"
Our keeper "Ben Elplick" made some great saves in the 90mins. First half a great touch over the bar. The second half a brave save at the feet of the "Darts" front man on a one on one to score.

LEE BEVAN
Had his wits about him , when he had to mark their best player on the night. A young winger by the name of "Dan Griffiths", gave us some tricky moments. "Bev" well played !!.

CHRIS WRIGHT
Adds to his Seasons total when he shot for our third goal. It was half saved by the keeper, but still crossed the line.

MAN OF THE MATCH
Well backed up by Will Stringer in the middle and his brother on the right flank, John was a brick wall for the "South Hams" front runners. The club award on the day for me "John Heveran".

"WILL STRINGER"
The evening ended on a slightly sour note , when "Willy" was injured late in the game. He was well in the frame for my Man of the Match. The injury to his left knee needed a trip home in the ambulance. As i publish to you, no news to the extent of the injury is unknown ?. We wish him well. Next game St Austell away Sat. 2nd Oct. Stay tuned "lidds".

THE "LILLYWHITES" GET SEVEN OF THE BEST !!
As reported yet again by "Al Horswill", he tells me we were far too good for the visitors. A meagre crowd had to wait 20mins for things to happen. But from the first goal it was one way traffic. Will Stringer opened the scoring followed by "Doely", and Chris Wright got the third before the break. John Heveran put his name on two, and Ben Davies registered his first goal for the club. Off the bench came Andy Sargent to round off the seven. We did sit back slightly then, and they hit the target twice. But by then all the sheep were in the "pen". I must thank "Alan" for the report, and also a very good friend of mine "Chris Maher", who snapped a couple of images for me.

LAUNCESTON AWAY

HOBSIE SINKS THE "CLARETS"
Launceston 1 Parkway 4
Although not playing up to our normal standard
we still managed to register the away win at "Pennygillan". All thanks to Hobsie who put his name on all four goals. His first a ball pulled back from the bye-line to fire home. His second made by Paul Heveran, the first touch was precise, and he slammed home. Before the break, "Brooksie"put him through to give us the breathing space and register the hat-trick. After the break the best goal of all, when he broke away on the left flank. He shrugged off the challenge , came across the front of goal and shot low in the corner. (brilliant). They came at us but found us solid at the back. Always a good win at "Pennygillan" considering the slope to contend with ?. All options were played from the bench, including new signing we welcome to the club "Mark Reckless".
"lidds"

LAUNCESTON AWAY

MARC BONNEY
He was slightly below his normal standard of play. After the early lead he up-ended in the box to give them the chance to level. The spot kick was dully dealt with.

FOUR GOALS FOR "HOBSIE"
Glynn Hobbs gave us a night to remember when he struck no less than 4 times to give us a healthy win at "Pennygillan".

LEE DOEL
One of the options from the bench was "Doely". With his quick running he was going to be a problem for them in the box. He was brought down, and from the spot it "COULD" have been our fifth goal.

MISSED FROM THE SPOT !!
Clear cut chances never fell for front runner Chris Wright. Well! only one. From the penalty spot, he picked the left side, but so did the keeper ??.
Next game Sat home to St Austell.

SALTASH HOME

"BROOKSIE" DAMPS DOWN THE ASHES !!
The local derby certainly lived up for what was expected. A bumper crowd saw good football from both sides. Play was end to end with both keepers having plenty to handle. First half saw us a goal down. But it must be said it was a great goal from their front man "Marc Thorn". Second half we were down to ten men having "Shane Kracc"going for an early shower after a second yellow card. We battled on and saw young Paul Heveran effort come back off the cross-bar. But then they hit the post with a great shot coming from ex-Parkway player Matty Cusack. Just when they were about to pop the corks for the slender win, "Brooksie" somewhat poured cold water on the "Ashes"??. He found space to fire home a shot, about 25yds, waist high in the corner of the net. This was what we deserved remembering we were down to 10 men. The goal was richly celebrated by the squad and the bench. To be fair on the night , no side deserved to lose.

"INJURY BLOW"
It was not good news that we heard when "Will Stringer" (central def) failed the fitness test for the game. In this all important derby game he is a big gap to fill.
"lidds"

SALTASH HOME

"MARC BONNEY"
Young full back "Marc" had his hands full when he had to come up against the experience of Ashes winger "Ben Smallridge". But I thought "Bonso" played him well. Time and time again he made him turn inside to prevent the danger of the cross. The battle was won when they took "Smallridge " off. "Marc" , well played.

SALTASH HOME

JOHN HEVERAN
As always, put in a solid game in our defence.

"OOPS ! RED CARD"
We had to suffer the loss in the second half when hard tackler "Kraccie"got a second yellow. It was a blow for us but we got over it?.

THE POWERS TO BE !!
I would think our managers "Gez and Wayner" must have been well pleased with the overall performance, in this all important derby with our friends across the Tamar.

SALTASH HOME

"BROOKSIE COOLS THE ASHES"
"Danny Brooks", had a more than convincing game in our mid-field. His clever touches is a treat to watch. He made it a night to remember when he cancelled out any celebrations for the "Ashes" hitting the equalizer late in the game. So for that,
"DANIEL BROOKS", I appoint thee Man of the Match. (how was the wine ??)
Next game Tues away Launceston. Stay tuned "lidds"

TAVISTOCK AT HOME

WE ROUND UP THE "LAMBS"
Not actually in attendance for this one, being at a wedding. But my report for this one done by Al Horswill. He tells me we were at one stage 2 goals down. Losing Will Stringer through injury, it was not looking good. But then Chris Wright came on the scene and got us back with a goal before the break. Second half we became the better side. Getting back level pegs with a further goal from "Wrighty"again. He went on to complete his hat-trick and a brilliant performance for the club. I was told then we lost Lance Bailey after a trip in the box, with the dreaded red card. The game was sealed then with a hand ball for us. Andy Sargent stepped up and duly done the honours. Alan tells me a good crowd in attendance, despite the attraction on the "box". This was a game we needed to win, having pinched the cream of players from the "Lambs"from the last season. I'm sure now they will agree they made a good move !!.

Without any shadow of doubt, I'm told that "Chrissie Wright" was on fire. Getting us back into the game with his hat-trick, he gets the club award.
