GALMPTON AWAY

"Throgmorton cup versus Galmpton Gents"
As always at Parkway, we mark the day with a pennant. Here doing the honours is match day secretary Vic Easterbrook with Galmpton chairman Stuart Hallum.
(smile Vic ! your on lidds on line ?) After the early shock with their goal, I thought we always had the final skill to win the tie. We were back level on 15mins when a second ball ran kindly for Paul Baker to score. Then Chris Wright who has re-signed back to us from Saltash scored. All be it from the spot. It was a hand ball on the line, a penalty for us and a red card for them. Second half we went further ahead with Paul Baker notching his second goal. They did pull one back, but Carl Curtiss came off the bench and on the 75min marker he hit a fine goal to secure the tie. A very poor crowd saw Sunshine! six goals, a red card, a penalty, and some diabolical decisions from the man in black ?. (where do they come from ??)

"OUR FIRE POWER IS BACK"
It was good to see once again golden boot Chris Wright donning a Parkway shirt. He returns to us from Saltash, which can only be good for the club. He was back with a well struck penalty. to give us the lead before the break.

"IT WAS OVER!!"
A very contoversial decision for the ref; The ball was handled by the defender, who you can see by my image is way over the line. Hand ball ! red card ! penalty ! What did he give , a drop ball ???. well! well!

"PARKWAY KEEPER"
Once again Ben Elphlick put in a great performance in our goal. If he carries on this way of playing , we will have to be on our guard for the big spenders ??.

"MAN OF THE MATCH"
Although not making the score-sheet, Ryan Honey played a major role in the victory. His eagerness for the ball and distribution was brilliant.

BREAKING NEWS!!

"WRIGHTY RETURNS"
I can now confirm after some frantic phone-calls and chit-chat, that last seasons golden boot is to return to the hallowed turf of "Bolitho Park". Chris Wright is to come back to Parkway. It seems that the short spell at "Kimberly" was not as expected. However, we must thank secretary "Lou Ranford" and club officials for the changeover with no problems. A player of Chris's pedigree, and the added bonus of his father, "Richard", who was a player of some distinction in the old Sth West Lge.
(mark my words). Any club cannot do without this added bonus. No reflection on the present front runners of the club, but I feel we have been lacking in some fire-power in the way of hitting the target. This can only be good news for the club with the return of our top scorer. A good clubman, and he will score goals, what more do we want ??

WADEBRIDGE AT HOME

"ANOTHER GREAT SAVE!!"
We made hard work for this slender win over lowly Wadebridge Town. A small crowd saw a scrappy game from both sides. It took untill early in the second half before we could break the dead-lock. The visiting keeper was the main stumbling block. But Andy Sargent managed to beat him on the far post with a header. They suffered a red card, but still managed to keep us to the single goal. All I can say is we played bad, but still won ?? See you Sat (Throgmorton cup).

WADEBRIDGE AT HOME

"WE TAKE THE LEAD"
The visiting Bridgers keeper "Mark Gears" had a brilliant game against us. But we finally took the slender lead, when Andy Sargent met a floating cross from Neil Kinsman. He was on the far post to head home. This was to be the winner ??.

LISKEARD AWAY

"THE OLD ENEMY ?"
A meagre crowd by our standards saw a game end to end. Both sides coming close to the target. We took the lead on 30mins. Andy Sargent brought down in the box. While the shout for penalty was heard, Ryan Honey played on and scored. Second half we got the cushion of a second goal. Matt Cusack shot across the goal and found the net. We had to meet up again with an old favourite, it was ex-Parkway player Andy Bowker. He was the only threat to us in the way of scoring. Craig Holman played him well, but second half they done us a big favour. "Bowks" was taken off and put on the bench. That to me was their fire-power gone. Anyway a good result for us. It was always a battle down at "Lux Park". Hospitality was first class. Scroll down for some images. "lidds"

"MAN OF THE MATCH"
After much deep thought, I award the club trophy to Craig Holman. (no 5) Without the added strength of Matty Hawke (bench) he performed well as our central defender.

F.A VASE V ST BLAZEY

"Man of the Match"
I must apologise for the first issue of the image. It seems, there was some area of disapproval that was missed. It was brought to my attention by phone-call. The culprit that was responsible, will be dealt with under the club rules. It only took a small alteration ?? to remedy the area !!. So here we see, the Man of the Match, Parkway keeper "Ben Elphlick" for his brilliant performance.

F.A VASE V ST BLAZEY

"PARKWAY V ST BLAZEY (I WONDER ??)
Well! well!, we finally overcome the stigma of never beating our opponents St Blazey ever. A good crowd saw a typical cup tie that had it all. A fistful of yellow cards, two straight reds, six goals and a shower of rain. What more could you ask for £4. We had to come from behind twice. Their first, a good clean cut header from a corner. We levelled with a free kick by Jonny Morris, that found the net through a melee of players. A scrappy goal saw them take the lead again. Late in the game now, it looked like the result. But a terrible back pass was spotted by Ryan Honey. He forced the ball over to register his first for the club, and extra time to be played. This now called for strength and courage. That's just what our manager got. Mat Cusack broke away and he floated his shot over the keepers head for a perfect finish. Soon after they had no answer for the fresh legs of Carl Curtiss. He brushed aside two defenders and his low shot crashed the back of the net. This was to seal the tie. The second period of extra time as expected they came at us. But the tired legs of our defence well marshaled by Matty Hawke, held out to the final whistle. It was a brilliant victory for us in more ways than one ????.
