POOR CROWD ,LOVELY DAY ??
Wadebridge, not having the best of starts in the league, battled until the end. But they found us at Bolitho Park far too strong. A very poor crowd on a lovely day saw us in control right from the start. They found Will Stringer in command, well backed up by Joh Haveran, and the natural left foot of Lee Bevan, a real brick wall for the Bridgers front runners. We found the target when Shane Kracc sent across a corner for John Haveran to head home. Then "Brooksie" with one of his penetrating passes found "Chris Wright". He rounded the keeper and his angled shot found the net. After the break "Hobo" shot low for our third goal. They replied with a good goal beating "Ben" from 30yds. With the game in control, all options were played from the bench. Scroll down for some action.

PENZANCE AT HOME
b
" PUT YOUR RIGHT LEG IN ??"
It has to be said we came back to reality with a poor performance. I thought we ran out with the idea of an easy win. How wrong we were one nil down after 18 mins . Second half we levelled with a little bit of luck from a back pass to the keeper. They then took the lead again and to claim the points. A cross was well met with a half volley giving "Ben" no chance to save. Around the ground (poor crowd) the general patter was that they were more eager for the win. Perhaps this will do us some good. Any game in our league is not going to be easy. We will have to battle for every ball. But let us not forget , It's only a game of "footy".

BOVEY TRACEY AWAY
They had no answer for the style of play thrown at them. "Lance Bailey" opened the score with a great goal to register his first for the club. Then a free kick fom "Paul Haveran" found his brother in space to head a great goal. "Lee Doel" made the chance for Chris Wright to see us on the break 3 nil up. Second half he was on target again, with a hat-trick coming from Andy Sargent. Ben Elphlick had a quite game in goal handling with ease all that came his way. Our defence was solid well marshalled by "Will Stringer". It was a good all round performance from the squad. Both managers must be well pleased with this early start to our season.

LOCAL DERBY V IVYBRIDGE
Before the early awaited local Derby between the two clubs, both clubs show the one minute silence for the death of the Exeter player "Adam Stansfield", who sadly died this week. But the game lived up to what was expected. We took the lead after 16mins, when Chris Wright fed a ball to Andy Sargent to tap in . They got back level with a gift of a free header from a corner. Again Chrissie Wright from the right wing found "Sargent", on hand to find the target. "Hobo" then on one of his runs, fired home a blaster to give us the 3-1 lead. Before the break they managed to pull one back to keep the game alive. Second half the play was end to end. But they got back when a scruffy goal-mouth scramble saw them get the final touch to level the scores. But then late in the game, Chris Wright saw his shot half saved by the keeper. He done well to reach the second high ball to lobb into the empty net to claim the game.

CULLUMPTON RANGERS AWAY
Where would we be without the loyal support for the team. Here we see just a hand full of them who made one of our longest trips away for the season. But we saw a good start with a more than convincing win. First half their keeper "Joe Moore"played a major roll in keeping us at bay, but for the 2 goals. One from John Haveran and "Hobo" hit the second. But second half we were well in charge of the game. Further goals by "Chris Wright", and then "Mark Bonney" put over one of his natural left foot crosses, it eluded the keeper and found the net. One of the options from the bench was "Lee Coxan" who soon found the target for goal number 5. "Hobo" then headed in to give us the half dozen. It was a good all round performance for the first game. "Will Stringer" well backed up by both flanks, Mark Bonney on the left and young Paul Haveran on the right were a real brick wall for the front runners of Cullumpton.
I trust we all had a safe trip home.

CULLUMPTON RANGERS AWAY
As we all know "Hobo" would create problems for them. He did just that!. His first strike a one on one with the keeper, a low shot in the corner for our second goal right on half_time. His second a through ball from John Haveran saw "Hobo" with a neat header over the advancing keepers head to give us the tally of six.
