ST BLAZEY AWAY

NOT A GOOD DAY !
As always, our trips to "Blaise Park" is a difficult fixture for us to overcome. This one was no exception !. I would guess we had 75% of the play, but failed that killer finish. We defended well with "Willy and Mike Landricombe" well in control at the back. First half was goal-less, but then a well placed high ball was miss-judged by "Ben". The loose ball was stabbed home. We pounded their goal but found the home keeper time after time, luckily placed to save. Then to add to misery for the night ? they broke away on the left flank. Skinning the defender, from an acute angle hit a great goal. Time was against us now so a late trip in the box was a consolation goal from the spot. "Willy" stepped up for the honour. We now have to gather our thoughts and face all the coming games with character ! Especially the next one  ??

TOP GUN RESTED ??
Our top scorer to date was ordained to the bench, "Levi". This might have been our downfall. There was chances in the first period that I think he would have registered ?. He was brought on second half , but by that time we were up against it for the result.

LISKEARD AT HOME

LISKEARD AT HOME
The game went pretty much as predicted. But all credit to the visitors, who are not having the best of seasons ? They played the 90 mins in a sporting fashion. All credit to them for that. But we controlled the game from the start. "Nicky Rudge" started the onslaught, Sam netted twice as did "Adam Carter". Top man for the club "Levi" got 2 goals. To complete the tally of 8, it was skipper "Willy" from the spot as the image shows. My apologies for the delay, but I have had some internet problems !!

THROGMORTON CUP

TIME TO CELEBRATE ??
After the brilliant win over our old enemies from Cornwall, I thought it was time to raise a "small" glass of wine to the way the squad performed on the day. The powers to be in charge "Wayner and Lee" must have inflicted some words of wisdom ?. An early goal from them, I thought here we go for the onslaught. How wrong we all were. "Levi" got us level, and then the penalty. "Willy" stepped up and it was partly saved, But "Adam" nipped in and slammed the loose ball home to give us the lead. Then to add to their misery "Levi" again, slotted away a beauty to claim the day. I myself give all credit to the squad for the result ! well done !!

IT WAS A GOOD DAY FOR "ADAM"
Ex - Bodmin player "Adam Carter" was more than keen to make an impression on the game. He did that setting up our equalizer for "Levi", and then put his name on the score sheet for himself. "Willys" penalty was only partly saved by the keeper. "Adam" nipped in and slammed the loose ball home to give us the lead.

SALTASH AWAY

THE "ASHES" ARE REKINDLED ?
The result did not go as predicted. They were more than pleased to obtain the victory. Young "Danny Law" donned the keepers gloves in the absence of "Ben". As the image shows he brought off some fine saves. But it was not our day. Play from both sides was untidy, and not very constant. But we took the lead after a good run from "Sam Hillson". He worked the ball into the box for "Levi Landricombe" to get the last touch to score. After the break we looked the better side , but a disputed hand ball in the box put them level from the spot. The next blow was to see us lose "Gavin Coulton"with a bad cut eye. Further to our misery, they broke away and snatched the winner with a scruffy goal from close in, that must have been in the last minute of time. So the beer tasted flat !! and we left "Kimberly" with nothing to show for our efforts !.

SALTASH AWAY

NOT A GOOD DAY !
I felt more than sorry for our central defender "Gavin Coulton" on his return to "Kimberly Stadium". Being a regular in the "Ashes" squad for many a season, he was keen to enjoy the day. However things did not go as planned. First he was subject for the disputable hand ball that put them level from the spot. Then to add to our misery, he sustained a bad cut above the eye that needed 7 stitches.    His move to the bench was not good. We now face the problem that he will be missing on Tuesday, against that outfit from "Cornwall" in the cup at "Bolitho Park".

LOCAL DERBY AT ELBURTON

WE BOUNCE BACK !!
0ur main man at the top (Wainer") must have been well pleased with the performance from the squad at "Haye Road". Sometimes the local games do not go as predicted. However the squad raised the tempo, and were worthy winners after 90mins. Before the break a 2nil lead coming from "Adam Carter", and the always favourite to score "Levi Landricombe". He was on target again lobbing the keeper from 35 yds which saw the home keeper scrambling back in desperation to save. They did reply from a corner with a free header. But by then it was game over. We had to call now on the stand in keeper from "Tivvy" namely "Danny Law". This is because our  regular number one "Ben" is joining the services ?. Well done to the squad, back to winning ways again ""

LOCAL DERBY AT ELBURTON

WE SAY FAREWELL !!
We now face the prospect of loosing our keeper "Ben Elphick". He is soon to go for advance training for the Army. He has been a more than added member of the squad. I myself have served my time, (Yeh! I fought for you B-gg--s) Hence years ago, I made Corporal and played on more than one occasion for the Rep side for the Army at football. I do think he will equal that and do more knowing the person he is. So I think all of us at "Parkway" wish him all the best in his venture in life and his career. All the best "Ben" from  all of us at "Parkway"

LOCAL DERBY AT ELBURTON

MAN OF THE MATCH
Just of recent, i have had some friendly banter on the choice for the club award. However, after the 90min whistle they were eagerly awaiting my final choice. Let us remember it is a light hearted gesture that we do at the club. But never the less it is there to be won. So after this local derby game with more than one name in the frame , my casting vote fell for "Dann Hart". My decision was well backed up by all in attendance. Heh "! next game another local derby against our rivals from across the "Tamar" no less than "Saltash Utd" at Kimberly Stadium. Sat March 15th. SEE YOU THERE ??    "lidds"

AT HOME TO CULLUMPTON

IT WAS NOT EASY ??
The result was ours to claim, but we had to work hard for the 3 points. It took us 40 mins before the deadlock was broken. A through ball saw "levi Landricombe", the ball ran kindly for him to slip it past the keeper. After the break the odd mistake from "Ben", gave the easy chance for them to level and put them back in the game. So we had to pile on the pressure now and look for the winner. We did just that. They kicked anywhere to keep us at bay. With 15 mins to go, "Paul Heveran" sent a cross into the box. It was met with a full volley from big "Adam Carter" and crashed the back of the net for the winner. Baring in mind the position in the league of the visitors, it was not a convincing win ! but a win none the less !!

ELMORE AT HOME

WELCOME !
Before the start we welcome the newcomers to the league, and their first visit to "Bolitho Park". However, the game did not go as anyone would predict !. I have never seen a team have so much control on the ball , but yet fail to score. It must have been frustrating for players up front to see some good shots just failing the target. But the visiting keeper (Joe Moore) it must be said played a blinder. "levi Landricombe" sent in a couple of screamers, but he just managed to get a hand to save. Especially in the second half, when we ran them ragged ?. But they held on, and left for the trip home with a lucky point in the bag ??. Just lately we have lost that killer touch ! but I'm sure the powers to be at the helm, it will be sorted ??

IVYBRIDGE AT HOME

NOT GOOD !!
What can I say on this game. No "Gavin Coulton", the ground was heavy going, and dare I say it we are missing "Ryan Richards" who is gone to seek greener pastures. He did combine well with our "Levi" up front. However, enough excuses ! We did not play well at all. A good crowd in attendance has seen us play much better. The early goal was just what they went for. But the goal was well taken. We did get level but was ruled off-side. After the break the play was scrappy. The man in "Black" was not the best we have had, and it was highly disputed when "Dann Hart" saw the "Red card". We pressed them looking to get back in the game . But the shots were high or wide of the target. Then to add to our misery, they broke away and scored again to give us no way back !. So we learn once more what its like to lose ? BUT ! as our Manager "Lee Hobbs"left the clubhouse, he said a very true word to us   "DONT PANIC".

DEDICATION !!
We must take a moment to thank the hard work and dedication to the club, coming from "Gary Turner". It would not have been for the care of the ground the fixture would have been off. What would any club do without people of this nature !!   Next game Tues at home to "Elmore".     Stay tuned "lidds"
