IT WENT AS PREDICTED !!
The two goals from Lee Doel certainly helped in this home fixture against lowly Witheridge Town. A cold afternoon saw a small band of supporters looking for the home win. But they had to see us one nil down , after only 10mins of play. Then Lee Doel struck his first goal of two. A thunderbolt shot inside the near post. That gave us level pegs, until Andy Sargent broke away on the right flank. He could have finished the chance but very unselfishly fed the ball to Chris Wright who was virtually on the goal-line to score. After the break a very plucky Witheridge squad suffered another goal within 5 mins. "Doely" had the lucky bounce back off the keeper to register his second goal for the game. They fought hard and scored again. A shot half saved by "Ben",was netted from close in when the ball ran loose. The game then should have been sewn up, but for some very dubious off-side decisions ?? against us. However, we welcomed the return of "Danny Brooks"back from suspension. He came off the bench and finished a fine move guiding the ball away from the keeper for our fourth goal, and all three points.

ROYAL MARINES AWAY
Again, it must be said we were not at our best. The early goal from "Ryan Richards"was good. But they got back level, and then with a well worked chance took the lead. We then suffered the blow of a penalty when "Ben" up-ended in the area.
As it happened the spot kick was wasted with the ball scooped up and crashed against the cross bar. If this had been converted it would have been for us, "goodnight Mother, see you in the morning ". But he missed!!. Second half we awaited the return off the bench of "Glynn Hobbs", back from suspension. He did make a difference when he came on. On one of his runs on the ball, he got inside the box and the final touch came from "Mark Bonney" from close in to give us level pegs. It was untidy , but what we deserved for the pressure we inflicted on them. I feel with more time, "Hobo" might have given us the chance to have more than a point to take home. ??

DARTMOUTH AWAY
Yet again we register the win over lowly Dartmouth Town, who are not having the best of seasons. The early goal from Andy Sargent, followed shortly by young Mark Bonney on target , was a milestone for the "Darts" to recover. Second half they came at us , and the penalty save by Parkway keeper "Ben Elphick"did not help their pledge to score. They did find the net with a scruffy goal, but then we sealed the game when "Chrissie Wright" sealed the away victory with our third goal. Although the goals were nothing to speak of, never the less it was another win with key players still missing. But not for long ???

CULLUMPTON RANGERS HOME
CULLUMPTON CRUSHED !!
Can I say first all apologies to all concerned for my absence. My lack of information for the fixture lies entirely with me. My Grandson rang to tell me the game was on. I was at that given time , suffering from slight alcoholic poisoning !!
(we have all been there) So my travel plans were somewhat limited. My request to "her indoors" for help in tranportation to the ground , fell at no surprise on stony ground, and was not forthcoming. So the game was missed. A special word for "Andy Harrison", who was drafted in from the second team. Made his mark with a goal. But my trusty back-up gang kept me in the picture. A more than comfortable win for us, but never the less, a win !!

DEVON PREMIER CUP 3RD ROUND
We could have done with a little more luck for an early goal. "Danny Worth" saw his shot cannon off the bar with the keeper for once well beaten. But he proved to be the out-come for the final result. The home keeper kept us at bay. But I will not say the best team won. We had them pegged for long periods , especially in the second half. They took the lead from a free kick. Parkway keeper "Ian Evans" caught slightly flat footed and off his line. The ball was floated over his head and found the net. The second goal 5 mins later ,we had no complaints for. The ball was worked in from the left flank, with a low shot it was well away from the outstretched hands of the keeper.
Second half we had most of the play. "Foster" (fossie) was well in control at the back to prevent further scores from the home side. But for all the pressure we gave them we could only register the single goal coming from "Chris Thirkettle".

THROGMORTON CUP V GODOLPHIN
We started the new year in fine style with a win to enter us in "Throgmorton Cup" quarter finals. Although it was slender by the score margin, it was still a victory. Godolphin who hail from the Newquay area, gave us a stiff challenge. But as the game progressed, the difference in the league status began to show. Play was end to end but still within control. Lance Bailey was a power of strength well backed up by John Heveran. On the flanks Lee Bevan saw a lot of the ball , as well as young Paul Heveran. This combined was too much for the front runners for the home side. A goal first half ruled off-side, so it was the second period before we struck. Andy Sargent crossed a well placed ball for "Lee Coxan " to make contact enough to beat the keeper and give us the single goal for the game. All thanks to the away support we had in spite of the long trip down. Although the score-line was slender, let us remember for the next few games ,we are slightly below full firing power, ????.
