THE LOCAL DERBY CATERED FOR ?
We knew this was to be a difficult fixture against ex-Parkway coach "Stuart Dudley"and his team from across the Tamar. Both keepers played a major part in goal scoring chances, keeping them to a minimum. I thought play was a little scrappy in the first half, but not forgetting we scored twice but was dis-allowed. It took until the 85 min, before "Hobo" struck. He let go a rasper that rocked the back of the net. One of the options from the bench was new signing from "Dobwalls" young "Ryan Richards". He gave us some more bite up front. He was nicely positioned on the far post to head home our second goal on his debut. Lee Doel supplied the pin-point cross, and it put the game in our control for the three points.

TORPOINT HOME
For an outstanding game in our defence , up against the likes of "Carter", he did a fantastic job. After putting his name one the club award, this would have been the icing on the cake. Here we see him diving full length to head a great goal. But to our dismay was ruled off-side.

BODMIN TOWN HOME
WE WERE 5 MINS FROM GLORY !!
A good crowd saw an entertaining game between two top of the table teams. General patter from the crowd had Parkway the better side. But we had chances that were squandered in the first half. The second period "Bodmin" somewhat came at us , but they also missed golden chances to score. But the football on show was still good. No options were played from the bench from Parkway, because the squad were playing well. It was late in the game, when "Hobo" cut in from the right flank. He shrugged of the challenges and found the net with a low shot. It was huge celebrations all round. But it was not to last. In the added time by the "Ref", they forced a corner. Just when we thought we had pulled off a great victory, from the corner it was a free header from close in the give them level pegs. But if I am to be honest, that was a fair result on the night.

BODMIN TOWN HOME
THE GOLDEN MOMENT ??
This was the moment we thought we were to register the home victory. Underneath this pile of excited players was "Glynn Hobbs"who had just scored to give us the lead. But as we all know now , it was to be short-lived. Let us remember thou, against one of the high flyer's in the league, we did not WIN, but on the other hand ,we did not LOSE !! Next game Sat home to Torpoint.

THROGMORTON CUP
It took us until the second half to secure the result against the plucky Totnes / Dartington side in the 2nd round of the Throgmorton Cup. A very small crowd by our standards, saw a first half with neither side in control. But after the break the favourites to win the tie , it all came true. We over ran them by 4 clear goals. "Doely" got the ball rolling so to speak, with a full volley strike from 25 yds. Shane Kracc added the second and Chris Wright with a cheeky chip over the keepers head for the third goal. It was "Doely" on the scene again with a last touch with his head to notch the fourth goal. A credit to both sides in a cup match of unknown quality of both sides, to go 90 mins without a single yellow card. The hospitality shown to us was top class , and we wish them well.

THROGMORTON CUP
"Glynn Hobbs", I thought maybe had a quite first half. But after the break they had no answer to his challenge. He played out wide on the left flank and saw a lot of the ball. "Lee Bevan" sent him away with through balls time and time again. "Hobo" contributed to our scoreline without doubt.

FALMOUTH TOWN AWAY
We were somewhat bounced back to reality after the away win at "Homers Heath". The miserable crowd by number must have been pleased to see us whacked by 6 goals. Also the added bonus for them no " Hobsie"in our line up. But to jump to our defence, when you lose your keeper early in the game , (red card) it is a losing battle. You can replace a out player to the same degree , but to take on the custody of the keepers jersey is a different matter altogether. "Lee Doel" took on the roll and had to face the responding penalty, for which was converted. After they scored again, options were put in place. "Doely" resumed his position and "Marc Bonney"came off the bench and took on the keepers roll. But let us face it , your on a loser. We battled on but to no avail. "Lee Coxon"got our single goal, but it was not going to be our day. We will without doubt "BOUNCE BACK".

BUCKLAND AWAY
We took the league leaders off the top position with this brilliant away win. A good crowd saw them meet their match and accept defeat, for which they have not seen at home for a long time. An early goal from "Glynn Hobbs" gave us the start. Followed when he shot again , "Chrissie Wright" got the final touch for the 2-0 nil lead on the break. Second half they came at us, their first goal was a scruffy one from a corner. But the equalizer was a great header. We then lost "Lance Bailey" on a straight red. But showed some courage and took the lead again. It was "Hobo" again to see his shot turned in yet again by "sniffer Wright". Soon after he was brought down in the box. Last defender, so red card for them. "Brooksie" stepped up and Cooley placed us on top of the league with the more than convincing 4-2 victory. In spite of the 2 red cards given, the game was a credit to both sides. The Parkway "mob" would like to say thank you for the hospitality and friendship shown.

LISKEARD AT HOME
"Ben"the Parkway keeper, never had a lot to do , in this home fixture . A good crowd saw some good football, and 6 goals. Play was fast, and I thought for once well marshaled by the "ref". It also was good to see us back to full strength, what with key players being away. "Hobbsie" put his name on a hat-trick, and Chris Wright placed a record with 100 goals. Scroll down and stay tuned.

LISKEARD AT HOME
Chris Wright gave us the lead after 15mins when the "Blues" keeper messed up a simple ball. The ball ran kindly for "Wrighty" who saw the chance and thankfully slotted the ball in. He again scored when "Hobbsie" gave him a ball on the plate to finish from close in. It has been said that he is the first player to reach 100 goals on the South West League. If not so, I stand corrected ??.

LISKEARD AT HOME
It was good to get "Hobbsie" back from his Spanish Hols, and back in our firing line. He did just that with a thunderous shot by the near post to give us 3-0. On target again with a low shot for goal no 5. He could have scored yet again, but instead unselfishly fed the ball for Chris Wright to finish. But "Wrighty" returned the favour when he set up "Hobbsie" to complete his hat-trick. Without doubt our club Man of the Match. Next game Tues away to Buckland.

ST LUKES BOWL HOME
A poor crowd by standards turned out for the St Lukes Bowl cup tie against "Dartmouth Town". It turned out to be a slender win for us, remembering the victory also the week previous in the league. Both sides missed chances to score. So the single goal in the first half decided the issue. Danny Brooks who had a brilliant first half, made the opening. He evaded the attention of two defenders, and his clinical cross was duly headed home by Chris Wright. The "South Hams"visitors had their moments. They would have levelled, but for the trusty foot of Mark Bonney who cleared virtually off the line. Next round versus Argyle at home.

St Austell away
THE "LILLYWHITES" SEEK REVENGE ??
St Austell were in no mood for a repeat of the hammering they had to suffer in weeks previous. They had us on the back foot for many chances. We took the lead from the spot after 25 Min's. But they played some good football, and to no surprise were back level on the break. The keeper was subject to a through ball. It was shot low into the corner. Second half we were under pressure. The break came for them by way of a free kick. Just on the edge of the box. In my day you put players on the posts ? So what happened, the clinical shot was placed in the top far post corner. We now had to face the banter we would get over our pint after the game. But the game is not over till that whistle goes. "Johnny Heveran", was our saviour when he headed a beauty from a corner to give us level pegs. But it must be said, we journeyed home with a lucky point in the boot ??.
